This is a truly wonderful hotel if you really want to dive into the Chinese culture. It is a very traditional and absolutely beautiful and elegant hotel. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean and the staff is friendly. The location is perfect to explore the imperial garden and palace (the Mountain Resort) as it is in walking distance of... Other reviewers have got this close to right. It is, firstly, a distinctive convenient and elegant place to stay in Cheng De. It is immaculately clean and recently competed within an old palace inside the Imperial Mountain Resort with elegant gardens (although you have to go round to the main entrance to get into the resort overall. But it is... More

This hotel is set just behind the old wall of the mountain resort. The buildings are in old Qing mansion style. The rooms are quite good, the grounds are very nicely landscaped. There is lots of grass, it is very quiet and there are great views of the mountains. It is close to the entrance of the Mountain Resort, .... More

Chinese style breakfast, not much English spoken and OK-but-nothing-more-service. From this perspective, an average Chinese hotel. Still a very recommendable place though, as the buildings were part of the Imperial Mountain Resort or perfectly match in the architecture. All in all, the hotel itself has plenty of wonderful photo opportunities, which is definitely the main reason -and a very good... More

One of the 50 most beautiful hotels in China. As part of the original Imperial Mountain Resort, the hotel was open to public only last year. Previously a summer retreat for visiting national leaders and foreign VIPs. Very friendly staff. Great location. As a newly opened hotel, there is space for improvement in terms of services and staff training. Price... More

We selected this hotel on the basis of the positive reviews read about it on tripadvisor and I must say that it has been a very positive experience. The hotel is an interesting combination of a luxury old-style china palace with some modern interior-design concepts. It consists of several separate buildings distributed in a scenic rocky garden of beautiful design.... More

We booked this hotel because it was the number one on tripadvisor and figured it would be good. It was really good indeed! The hotel is set in old, traditional Chinese imperialstic buildings yet the interior is very modern and zen. Very spacious rooms, very clean and very quiet. The staff speaks little english but since one of us spoke... More

The hotel is at a good location, just 5min walk to entrance of Imperial Mountain Resort (Bishushanzhuang). The hotel site is actually inside Bishu, but the guest entrance is facing public road, so no accessibility issue. The garden is beautiful and quiet, rooms are comfortable. We stayed in Garden Deluxe Suite which was roomy with high ceiling and luxuriously decorated.... More

We spend 1 night at this Tibetan Style Hotel. Meaning you have to go outside to reach other parts of the hotel. Very impressive garden and buildings with a view on the mountains. The room was spacious enough to add an extra bed. Zen style, tastfully decorated. It's located inside the Summer Palace walls, so it is a very quiet... More

At this price point we were expecting a pretty good 3 star. It is not chain standard 5 star, more like a top end boutique hotel (if you can get into the newly refurbished wing) which we were extremely impressed with. The grounds are spectacular and location could not be better for the palace and the outlaying temples. The rooms... More
