After travelling for a week from city to city in China it was a reliëf to arrive at the Giggling Tree. Beautifully set amongst the Karst Mountains, friendly and helpfull staf and plenty of things to do. Ideal to explore the surroundings by bike.

This is one of the best locations in China, maybe even in the world! Giggling Tree combines Chinese hospitality and habits with Western/Dutch atmosphere and quality. Very friendly people. Every guest gets a personal welcome (even in late evening or early morning). The reception is very willing to help to arrange excursions. The appartments are ancient Chinese buildings with Western... This place is beautiful - the old farm buildings are authentic and beautifully restored and the Karst mountains across the road are stunning. Rooms are simple, spacious and lovely. Go for an upstairs room if you can. The downstairs ones are similar but there is more light upstairs (I tried both having to move due to a broken leg, but... More

We have lived in China for 7 years and our 6 days staying at the Giggling Tree was one of our best vacations ever. It was so relaxing, with a great location. They will arrange pickup and drop off at the airport. The food was good. Paulien and Karst are very helpful and make you feel at home in their... More

We arrived at the Giggling Tree in early March. The weather forecast was ridiculous bad and traveling a family of five with a booking of 9 days (rain, rain rain) I was already depressed at arrival. It does rain a lot in this province and I was warned. But rain in nine days with three small kids? I almost canceled... More

Our overall impression and experience was very good. The Dutch owners are welcoming and very friendly. The people that work here are simply - amazing. They are very helpful, speak English, and were always happy to answer the million questions I had. The food: We had pretty much everything on the Asian menu (there are also Western menu options) and... More

From the moment we arrived on Friday afternoon, we were made to feel right at home. We were greeted by Pauline, checked in, sat down, got a local beer and ordered some food. The Giggle Burger is, by far, the tastiest burger that I've ever tried - so flavoursome! The prices of the food and drink are very reasonable. I... More

Lovely and accommodating staff, great location, and gorgeous surroundings! No need to plan your adventures ahead of time as you can book everything at reception. Boating on the Li River, taking in the infamous light show, and riding bikes along The Giggling Tree's self-guided Dragon Bridge Bike Tour are musts. Enjoy!

We stayed two times at The Giggling Tree and enjoyed it very much. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful - it feels like home. Rooms are clean and have enough pace. The bathrooms are clean and western standard. It is a little bit far away from the town but you will like the place because of the... More

We rent our bikes from there. They gave us couple of good advice, as well as a map and a picture guide for the best route to see the highlights. They also arranged bamboo raft ride for us. 2 bikes for one day + 2 hours bamboo raft cost us 350 RMB. They also have a restaurant with Western food.... More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read you thought our lemon chicken was disgusting (which I think is a rather harsh word to use). I guess this is a matter of taste as it is one of the dishes many of our guests like a lot. Anyway, we will even try harder to serve food everybody likes.... More
