We had a fabulous time. Everyone very friendly, great food and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend a visit. This is a wonderful place to base a visit to Yangshuo, or just enjoy a countryside break. Amazing scenery - hire a bike or if walking preferred there are so many beautiful places to go. So quiet and peaceful although... More

It is a place that you love the minute you arrive, people sit and chat in the courtyard, the air is fresh and fragrant, the service swift to arrive with your mango juice or espresso. They organize a lot of activities, and time flies by in a very relaxing fashion. Perfect place to kick back after some rough China travel.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at another hotel in Yangshuo and discovered Giggling Tree while biking in the countryside and stopped here for dinner after the raft tour. The setting was perfect as the terrace looks over the huge lily ponds with the karst mountains surrounding us. We sat here until night fall just enjoying the views and amazing food... More

Karst and Paulien has really done something amazing at this guest house. The place is beautiful, with nice simple rooms all opening out to a courtyard that naturally becomes the gathering spot for all guests. (Make sure to check out the photo album of all the work that went into the place). The Karst Mountains provide a beautiful backdrop and... More

Will definitely return to this lovely guest house. Has the laidback and family feel of a hostel but offers everything a hotel can and more. The staff were lovely especially the waitresses. The owner welcomed us personally which was nice. They organise everything for you including any transport needed. good mix of all ages and seems ideal for families with... More

After being forced to put back by six months, due to a family medical emergency the day before we were due to travel, when the big day finally came to visit the Giggling Tree, we were full of expectation and anticipation of what we might find. Fortunately we were not disappointed when we arrived and our first impressions of the... More

The staff was great, the managers were very helpful with any question we had and the view is just beautiful. The food is very good in reasonable prices, and it looks like the place is covering all from bicycle to ordering taxi and there's also a swimming pool! Absolutely wonderful

After some extensive China travelling, with all the up- and downsides that come along with it, the GT was a great place to recharge. Beautiful place, great food and lovely staff. What especially surprised us was that all the activities around the GT are super well organised. E.g. bike tours with a picture book as a guide, instead of the... More

Hi Paulien and Karst, many thanks for putting us up for the week we spent at your lovely guesthouse from 1-8 September, and at short notice too. The food was great, the staff very nice and helpful, and the place was kept very clean. We also met some great fellow guests. I hope that one day we will come back... More

After visiting some very busy cities in China, our stop at the Giggling Tree was a delight. The courtyard and garden offers enough space to sit an enjoy a book. I loved that you can really find your own spot, since so often these common spaces do not feel yours to really use. The guesthouse is not close to the... More
