What a marvellous place to stay! My wife and I were here for 5 days with our son, his wife and 2 grandchildren. We could not have chosen a better place. Absolutely fabulous landscape, endless opportunities to make amazing sightseeing trips, a guesthouse that really stole our heart, with absolutely charming staff, very competent Dutch management and excellent food and... Giggling tree is located about 5 km away from downtown - operated by a Dutch couple. It's probably the best hotel you can find to stay in there with a affordable price. My friend and I fell in love with the location and the people there that we ended up extending our stay there. The staff goes out of their... More

This is the absolute best place to stay if you are going to Yangshuo. It has the most amazing location, right on the river with incredible views of the unique Guilin landscape. We couldn't stop taking photos of the view from our room. It is a fantastic experience to ride around the area on the bikes provided by the hotel.... More

We stayed for 7 days in the Giggling Tree with 2 girl (9-13) and even this was too short! The location is breathtaking with view from the pool at the mountains, the atmosphere of this guesthouse is great and the food is delicious and freshly prepared!! Also enough sightseeing trips at short range (within an hour)! And because of the... More

A friend and I stayed at this lovely guest house for 4 nights at the end of May, but wished it could be much longer, I could just see myself staying there for weeks, biking or walking around in the real countryside away from all the downtown noises, sitting in the beautiful courtyard drinking coffee or tea and reading books,... My wife and I stayed at the Giggling Tree and everything was perfect. We had some issues with our flight into Guilin and Paula communicated back and forth with me incredibly promptly and helped us sort everything out. She went above and beyond. She and her husband have really crafted an amazing guesthouse, and have thought of everything. We loved... More

Rustique style, nice english speaking staff, relaxed atmosphere, efficient help to choose and book activities. Clean rooms, good chinese and international food choices, which even worked well for the vegetarian in our group. Don't miss the sezchuan fried lotus roots, a real highlight!

The Giggling Tree is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is situated at about 10 minutes biking from Yangshuo. The guesthouse offers a nice alternative to the crowded and touristy town of Yangshuo. The guesthouse offers high value for money with nice, clean and airconditioned rooms with wide selection on the menu, a swimming pool and a wide selection of activities... More

After many days in different cities it has been a delight to find this quiet and beautiful place. We had planned to stay two days and finally stayed five. The owners have a very nice family and the staff is very interesting and nice. The swimming pool is a real plus. Don't miss to stay there! Special thanks to Jackie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the tiny village Aishanmen, close to the scenic Yulong river only 5 km west from tourist hotspot Yangshuo, we renovated traditional yellow brick farmer houses into a beautiful inn. The courtyard is breathtaking. Our atmospheric restaurant and terrace with scenic views give travelers the chance to breathe fresh air again. In April 2013 we have opened our outdoor swimmingpool. Why stay in the city, when the countryside is so amazing! ... more   less
