Yangshuo is really different to most other places we visited in China: a relatively small old town surrounded by spectacular scenery. Unfortunately the hotel was disappointing. The rooms were fairly basic and our party had problems with both the lighting and the air con. Diner was poor (most dishes were very fatty) but breakfast was better. There is a small shop... More

If you need to rest... dont go. The hotel lobby is dark..., the restaurant (didn't tried the food) looks everything but welcoming; the room looked and felt dirty, ( Ithought about sleeping with my clothes on) although I had a beautiful white beadspread, and instead of a bed, I guess I had only a wooden board... It was so hard,... More

Interesting to have mirrored ceiling and one wall !? New experience for us. Hope there were no hidden cameras lol. Wifi only in foyer. Only one lift but sort of a boutique hotel so not busy. Did not have any meals there so cannot comment. Hotel prepared breakfast box as we had to leave early. Old and tired decor. Towells... More

We had quite a walk from the dock where we landed from our cruise down the Li River, but it was nice to see the street vendors downtown and the lay out of the city. I am glad that our luggage was taken to the hotel by our travel company. The hotel seemed a bit run down at first, but... More

New Century claims a 4 star rating, I am not sure what that could be based on, it would be lucky to be classified 2 stars. The rooms look dilapidated, the breakfast buffet is a average and you have to pay a cash deposit for everything from room key to umbrella. It is close to West Street and has Internet... More

Our room was satisfactory and seemed as clean as most of what we experienced in China. That said, we did use slippers to walk around the room. Wi-fi only worked in lobby and dining. Breakfast buffet was only OK. If there was a freshly made egg station, I did not see it. The hanging umbrellas is a very nice touch.... More

The room we were first shown to was obviously their Deluxe family room but there was a problem with the door lock. We asked for help and of course staff assumed it was because we couldn’t operate it. Eventually they accepted there was a problem and a maintenance person was called. He went to work on the door while one... More

I stayed here for two nights and it was fine. Easily within walking distance of the town centre. Rooms clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast (interesting to see that Chinese breakfast and Western breakfast rooms were separated though). In China, all hotels have very firm beds, this hotel is not an exception but then, you are in China and that is... More
