I agree that the location is beautiful and the public spaces are very nice. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very poor. First the rooms have mold and are musty which is very undesirable. Second, our room had a very odd (and undesirable) layout: our view of the river was blocked by a large screen TV, the room had... More

Very relaxing location right along the Yulong River. Well maintained property. Staffing was a little short at times, especially when a group arrives. But certainly acceptable service when we did need something.

The setting is gorgeous, with a lovely pool and restaurants facing the Yulong river. It's about a ten minute ride into town but the hotel's tranquil setting is worth the short trip. Hotel rooms are large and well equipped. The restaurant was fine. As with most hotels primarily used by Chinese tourists, the "Western" food is only OK. Room service... More

I think a number of the reviews for this hotel have been unkind, either that or things have changed. It truly is in a lovely setting and the place itself is beautiful. The rooms are large and well equipped, but the beds are extraordinarily hard. Why is this? I'm pretty certain it's that the place is really meant to cater... More

I can only back what the others already commented. The place itself is located beautifully and the hotel ist also very pretty, but with many places in China this hotel has no concept of service. Asking for a towel at the pool and guy got grumpy because he had to stop playing on his phone. He refused giving out towels... More

It is one of the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. I always prefer to stay in five star hotels but compared to money ı spent in this hotel I really regret staying there. One of the main reason that they can charge this much money is because there is only one hotel looking good and... More

This is one of those hotels, where everything is fantastic as long as you don't have to interact with the staff...even the smallest request can turn into a nightmare. We visited the hotel during Dragon Boat festival. We asked the doorman to get us a taxi to go the pier where the bamboo rafts departs. Doorman sent us to the... More

The location could not be more beautiful! From our balcony we could see the river and a beautiful garden. The buildings are interconnected with mountains on one side, and on the other the pool and the river. Perfect! The room decor was modern with good amenities but no privacy between the room and bathroom. The restaurants closed too early and... More

As the title suggests, this was perhaps the most perfectly located hotel imaginable. Sat by the side of the Li River on one side, and with dramatic mountains on the other, this is what they mean by idyllic. So far, so good, but where the hotel scores low is on the facilities and services. Basically, there are none. Two restaurants... More

This hotel has much to offer-wonderful location, beautiful grounds, peace and quiet, well-appointed rooms. I would certainly stay again just for those things BUT...the service is appalling! This was the 5th hotel we stayed at in China and so, in fairness, I am judging it against the standard we experienced at the others rather than comparing it with western hotels.... More
