Read many of the reviews here on Tripadvisor, and was prepared for the worst. But come on guys, it's not bad at all!! But of course, it depends on what kind of traveller you are and if your 're expecting luxury, which clearly it's not. We're backpackers, but still enjoy a nice and clean room, which we got. We payed... More

A huge tourist attraction from the gondola ride up across the magnificent gorges to the 1001 one granite steps up to the hotel and around about it, to the 1001 peaks on view if it is sunny so who can complain about the hotel which closely resembles a ski lodge atmosphere except there is no bar. There are 2 ways... More

The hotel location on the mountain is amazing!! But hotel facility are nice, but a bit out of date. But this is china, so I will recommend it! Perfect for tourists! A lot of stairs to get to the hotel, but wow! amazing view! many nice trips you can go by yourself without a guide! Good Chinese buffet and nice... More

This hotel is the most bad hotel i have used. Personal is not friendly and not helpfull. The rooms not clean and smell bad. The soap and shampoo is not free, when you used it you must pay extra for this soap and shampoo. The bed was so hard its feel like concrete. Bad bed. The breakfast is for western... More

We stayed in the 6-bed Dormitory for 2 nights. The mattress on the bed is so thin you could feel the wood frame of the bed. The pillow is also very flat. The only good thing was the thick quilt. The hotel is located very near to the Refreashing Terrace (清凉台) where you can view sunrise. From the main entrance,... More

Picked this hotel because of it's location but that's all it has going for it. Staff were rude to us because we were staying in a dorm room. Didn't provide towels (which we didn't bring with us) and refused to give them to us even after we offered to pay to rent some. Even tried to close the door to... More

If you're on a budget and staying a night at the top of Huangshan this is probably your only option. (If you're cool with carrying a tent up with you, do that instead!) The hotel reeks of cigarette smoke. The dorm was okay, but found a few baby cockroaches crawling about. Guests we shared our doorm with were rude and... More

If you want to see the sunrise or the sunset on Huangshan then you're going to have to stay on the mountain. We wanted to attempt a sunrise and being on a budget, picked the Bei Hai. We also plumped for dorm rooms at 240 CNY each, rather than stumping up 720 CNY for a private room. The Beihai is... More

First understand that this is at the top of Mt Huanshan - somewhat remote. That aside, our room was supposed to be 'deluxe' The carpet was threadbare and putrid. The smell was something between old socks and a septic tank - strongest in the bathroom. To top it off the king bed was two singles pushed together, but effectively it... More

How I booked: Official website: http://www.hsbeihaihotel.com/ Placed my online booking through the official website, i can read Chinese so it wasnt a problem for me. (Standard room: 780Yuan. Deposit of 100Yuan). I did see the same price on ctrip.com. Location: It's the closest hotel to the Yungu Cable Car station. However, it is still a 30mins hike to the hotel... More
