This hotel is probably the best location to start the visit of the yellow mountain. Apart from this the rest is not so good. The room vas smelling (hmmm how can I say it in a nice way?... smelling toilet!) The bed was hard like to sleep on an obituitary bed. Breakfast was good and wifi working well

We spent one night there. Our rooms were not in the main hotel building, but in the annex just in front. Nothing fancy, rooms are very basic but I wasn't expecting much more. Not cheap (~100USD/room per night) but considering the amazing location and logistics needed, I don't find it abusive at all. Clean rooms, heater and blankets provided, correct... More

We packed a backpack with stuff for an overnight stay which included change of clothing, poncho, umbrellas, toothbrush/paste, shaving equipment, shampoo and other cosmetic and meds one might need. We left our large luggage and excess belongings down at our hotel in the city. The Beihai hotel provides only one small bar of soap and towels – no face towels.... More

This is a hotel that has several dormitories which we decided to opt for being as the price for a regular room was more than ¥1000. Each dormitory has 6 wooden bunk beds. The room was clean and tidy with a shower, but no soap or towels were supplied. But aware that we used the shower in the afternoon and... More

The Beihai hotel is ideally located at the best lookouts on the mountain, especially for sunrise and the closest to cable car (approx 800m). The hotel is showing its age but its still in good shape and there are plenty of rooms a great dining hall, shops, Art shop with a master artist painter, massage and space outside. Basketball court... More

This was not a pleasant experience. If the weather had been better maybe I would feel differently but the place was just awful. The room was small and had a terrible odor with even the basic bathroom items not furnished. The bed was dreadful and there was no hot water in the morning. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and... I was stung for two nights but couldn't get there on time as my flight was delayed. Next morning I showed up at 9a and was told that I would have to pay for the missed night, but I couldn't access this room which I paid for until 12p. This fouled my plans. Prices are high and breakfast is not... More

This is a ok place for backpackers. The staff needs to be trained and made to realise that they are in a service industry . The tools were not clean and we had to struggle to make them understand. The location is a big plus as you can enjoy the sun set and sunrise

There are not many hotels on the mountains and they know it. We stayed in a deluxe queen room which was very expensive for the quality provided. Similarly, the restaurant and supermarket were very expensive (e.g. 20RMB for a 1.5L water compared to 5RMB at the bottom of the mountain). The hotel and rooms were old looking compared to Xihai... There’s not that many hotels atop Huangshan, relatively, but when you consider the logistics that there are any at all, as well as how they’re maintained and stocked for hotel guests, at the height they sit and the terrain that must be traversed, you might be more prone to forgive the short-comings pointed out in other reviews. The Bei Hai... More
