We stayed in the supposedly 5 star section of this hotel, which is said to be the best on the Mountain. That may be, but although this hotel is fine, it certainly isn't five star. The good things. Location on the Mtns is very good, and reasonable distance to hiking trails - note, nothing is close and there are lots... More

Newly renovated rooms. Very comfortable stay. Great view of the mountain. Room rate did not include bfast. One gripe is that it took at least 3.5 hours of hiking in the mountain to get to the hotel from the commonest entry point of the state park. A luggage porter will be nice, even for a fee.

This hotel is located at the top of Yellow Mountain. We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2013. We were there to hike the mountains, see the scenery and experience the outdoors. Not to sit in our rooms. The rooms were small, damp and old, but clean. It was perfectly fine for a few nights. We stayed in the... More

You work up a sweat getting from the cable car to the hotel. The hotel says its only 1000 meters or .62 miles but they fail to tell you its up and down, up and down multiple stairs. You leave the bulk of your luggage at a hotel at the base of the mountain and take only the essentials to... More

Hotel location is very nice...room good, Breakfast was great!! but if you think you find the classic hotel typical of the the mountains Xihai is not what will you find!!! A huge structure with chic furnishings ... typical structures for super-rich Chinese who love this type of furniture and style. The restaurant (typically with Chinese food) is located in the... More

We booked on ctrip...2 nights in a Queen Room (level 6) with mountain view. Clean and very comfortable room. You can make tea (only tea, no coffee) in the room. Of course, you have to book a room in the new building. It's a modern hotel with nice design. Good location. Staff is very friendly and helpful but their english... More

Like other reviewers, thanks to Leslie R for pointing out the new hotel. It is indeed very modern and clean - even has wifi. Since there is a lot of humidity up in the mountains, the rooms had a very very slight musty smell. Based on reviews of other older hotels, I'm pretty sure this is a major plus for... More

I knew beforehand that this hotel has an old wing and a new 5-star new wing. I booked through Agoda. For $160 a night, I thought I was booking a room in the new wing. I did call the hotel trying to confirm but they couldn't as the bookings aren't sent from Agoda to the hotel until the day of... More

Everything that went into building and furnishing this hotel had to be hoisted up the mountain. Quite some feat!! The rooms are generous and well apportioned. (However, at 6mo, it is already showing signs of wear and tear.) The lobby is grand, as all lobbies are in China. The service is adequate. The staff tries hard to please. Note: do... More
