Not many hotel to choose from. Chose to stay at the 'best' up at the moutain. Service is not fantastic and most people accept the fact that 'already up at the peak so do not be too picky'. Booking of the hotel can be tense during peak and hotel booking require advanced payment.

We stayed overnight in the South Wing of this hotel. Surprisingly to find a clean modern hotel on top of Mt. Huangshan. As everything for this hotel operation are transported up the mountain via porters, this means everything will be expensive. Unfortunately, the restaurant is the only game in the area - there's no other restaurant within walking distance! So,... More

We stayed in Xihai Hotel New Wing (South Wing) from 3-6 December 2014. We went up the mountain by Yungu Cableway. Along the journey, we saw spectacular scenery of the mountain. We had to walk a distance up and down the steps before reaching the Xihai Hotel. We were surprised that on the mountain we could find such clean hotel.... More

Location : Located at Xihai Scenic District and conveniently closed to Purple Cloud Station of Taiping Cableway (about 20 minutes walk)and White Goose Ridge Station of Yungu Cableway (about 40 minutes walk). It is almost midway to most of the scenic spots on the mountain. Facilities: The New Wing (South Wing) is a traditional Chinese style building in appearance, but... More

This is one of, if not the most expensive hotels on the mountain. Highlight is the huge puffer jackets in every room to keep you cozy when you watch the sunrise Unfortunately that did not make up for the disgraceful behavior and service delivered by staff at the bar (ignoring guests, hitting each other, laughing at their inability to fulfill... Yes......I know the nature buffs amongst us will be offended by a hotel, located in one of the most majestic places on this planet , having such modern conveniences as a drying rack in the bathroom to dry and warm up wet hiking clothes ( yes the Huangshan Mtns in Nov does have its hare of mist and sprinkles) and... This is not just one hotel but two. A new and shiny ones and an old and tired one. I stayed in the later one. I did not see the rooms in the news ones, but I think most reviews refer to it. The older one (also cheaper one) had is time and is ok for a place to sleep... More

I was really happy to see our hotel after our long hike up! I thought our room was spacious, considering that we had an extra bed. It was fully furnished, and the room was really comfortable and well lit. However, the air-conditioning wasn't really working. The hotel management might have had the air-conditioning centralized because the people we were with... More

My husband and I were told not to expect a five star hotel at the top of a mountain in China. Not correct. The hotel is beautiful and the amenities suprisingly modern (a heated drying rack?). Rooms were tiny but nicely decorated with comfortable beds and a fridge. We had to cancel the first night of our two night stay... More

It’s a bit crazy, but this is indeed a 5-star resort built on the tippy top of a mountain. It’s definitely not a rustic mountain lodge kinda place. It’s beautifully and recently designed/updated. We were shocked at some of the elegant design elements, esp. when you consider how hard it is to get stuff up the mountain (the restaurant is... More
