The rooms were clean and comfortable. Very nicely decorated. But cold, despite having indoor, central heating! And there were other guests smoking indoors, which was not ideal. The lobby is beautiful, and the restaurant is nice (but expensive, as one would guess), location is obviously gorgeous. The shower was hot enough, but when I tried to take the bath, it... More

For a hotel at the peak of the mountain, it exceeded my expectation. The hotel is new and grand. Staff are friendly. The room is modern and spacious. There is a down jacket for each guest in the closet for the cold morning sunrise walk. Everything in the room work well except the heating system. The room was cold and... More

Hangshan is such beautiful place that any hotel on the mounts are instantly "pass", and Xihai is probably among the very best! It is about 30-40min walk (comfortable hike) from Yun Gu cable station with beautiful views along the way, particular 10 min from cable car station and 10 min before arriving. The hotel is in a strange style, but... More

Hotel location is great. Most scenic areas/must see areas are within walking distance (about 60 mins walk) If you are taking the cable car up the mountain, currently only 2 cableways in operation, "Tai Ping" 太平/Peace and "Yun Gu" 云谷/Cloud Valley are 20 and 40 mins (walking distance) away respectively. "Yu Ping" 玉屏/Jade Screen cableway is under upgrading and renovation.... More

Our tour guide reminded us to manage our expectation of this hotel. After. 1-hour hike from cable car station to this hotel, we were astonished by the modern grand-looking lobby. 90% marble, nice rooms (we must have stayed in the south wing). Downside is rooms do not have general-in building heater so even in the afternoon, room temperatur was 17C... More

Not many hotel to choose from. Chose to stay at the 'best' up at the moutain. Service is not fantastic and most people accept the fact that 'already up at the peak so do not be too picky'. Booking of the hotel can be tense during peak and hotel booking require advanced payment.

We stayed overnight in the South Wing of this hotel. Surprisingly to find a clean modern hotel on top of Mt. Huangshan. As everything for this hotel operation are transported up the mountain via porters, this means everything will be expensive. Unfortunately, the restaurant is the only game in the area - there's no other restaurant within walking distance! So,... More

We stayed in Xihai Hotel New Wing (South Wing) from 3-6 December 2014. We went up the mountain by Yungu Cableway. Along the journey, we saw spectacular scenery of the mountain. We had to walk a distance up and down the steps before reaching the Xihai Hotel. We were surprised that on the mountain we could find such clean hotel.... More

Location : Located at Xihai Scenic District and conveniently closed to Purple Cloud Station of Taiping Cableway (about 20 minutes walk)and White Goose Ridge Station of Yungu Cableway (about 40 minutes walk). It is almost midway to most of the scenic spots on the mountain. Facilities: The New Wing (South Wing) is a traditional Chinese style building in appearance, but... More

This is one of, if not the most expensive hotels on the mountain. Highlight is the huge puffer jackets in every room to keep you cozy when you watch the sunrise Unfortunately that did not make up for the disgraceful behavior and service delivered by staff at the bar (ignoring guests, hitting each other, laughing at their inability to fulfill...
