I was really happy to see our hotel after our long hike up! I thought our room was spacious, considering that we had an extra bed. It was fully furnished, and the room was really comfortable and well lit. However, the air-conditioning wasn't really working. The hotel management might have had the air-conditioning centralized because the people we were with... More

My husband and I were told not to expect a five star hotel at the top of a mountain in China. Not correct. The hotel is beautiful and the amenities suprisingly modern (a heated drying rack?). Rooms were tiny but nicely decorated with comfortable beds and a fridge. We had to cancel the first night of our two night stay... More

It’s a bit crazy, but this is indeed a 5-star resort built on the tippy top of a mountain. It’s definitely not a rustic mountain lodge kinda place. It’s beautifully and recently designed/updated. We were shocked at some of the elegant design elements, esp. when you consider how hard it is to get stuff up the mountain (the restaurant is... More

After climbing the mountain in rain, we were so wet. But lucky this hotel has a good facilities so we can hang dry our clothes. A very nice room and clean too. It is a perfect hotel to take a rest and gain back our energy for the next day.

The hotel is nice, but expensive. We went to the dormitory part which charged us 250 CNY per night per person compared to 1.200 CNY for a double room. Food in the restaurant was ok and if you want western food I think this is the best choice on the mountain. They claim to be a top hotel so maybe... More

This is the best hotel at Mt. Huangshan just as what other travelers had said. However if you planned to visit the Xihai Grand Canyon then you have to backtrack to the hotel which took about two hours, and you have to take the same track again if you want to descend from the front mountain, so that is an... It is very new, quite luxurious. Room is on the small side but the beds are comfortably soft. Every hotel room at huangshan is expensive and the difference between this hotel and lesser quality one are marginal. Staffs are friendly. I had a sprained ankle and the staffs was very accomodating when I requested for some ice. Location is at... More

You book a room in the mountains and ask for a room with a view, what do you get? You get the right side but decorative beams on the building took away any view. They provide you with warm jackets in the room, that they charge 150 RMB for if you return them not dry. This is a place where... More

It's a little hard to understand how an overpriced luxury hotel found its way to the knock-out Huang Shan scenic area. But there it is. A poor choice unless you're so Western that you can't bear being in Asia. Don't get me wrong; this hotel would be terrific in New York, or Miami Beach. But it just doesn't fit on... More

For those who, like us, had put up with some of the older hotels on an earlier visit to the mountain, the new wing of the Xihai is nirvana. It has smallish but quite comfortable rooms, most without views. The beds are soft by Chinese standards, fine for Westerners. Our guide requested electric heaters in our rooms so we were... More
