The hotel is nice, but expensive. We went to the dormitory part which charged us 250 CNY per night per person compared to 1.200 CNY for a double room. Food in the restaurant was ok and if you want western food I think this is the best choice on the mountain. They claim to be a top hotel so maybe... More

This is the best hotel at Mt. Huangshan just as what other travelers had said. However if you planned to visit the Xihai Grand Canyon then you have to backtrack to the hotel which took about two hours, and you have to take the same track again if you want to descend from the front mountain, so that is an... It is very new, quite luxurious. Room is on the small side but the beds are comfortably soft. Every hotel room at huangshan is expensive and the difference between this hotel and lesser quality one are marginal. Staffs are friendly. I had a sprained ankle and the staffs was very accomodating when I requested for some ice. Location is at... More

You book a room in the mountains and ask for a room with a view, what do you get? You get the right side but decorative beams on the building took away any view. They provide you with warm jackets in the room, that they charge 150 RMB for if you return them not dry. This is a place where... More

It's a little hard to understand how an overpriced luxury hotel found its way to the knock-out Huang Shan scenic area. But there it is. A poor choice unless you're so Western that you can't bear being in Asia. Don't get me wrong; this hotel would be terrific in New York, or Miami Beach. But it just doesn't fit on... More

For those who, like us, had put up with some of the older hotels on an earlier visit to the mountain, the new wing of the Xihai is nirvana. It has smallish but quite comfortable rooms, most without views. The beds are soft by Chinese standards, fine for Westerners. Our guide requested electric heaters in our rooms so we were... More

I cannot understand how anyone could give anything but positive comments about this hotel. Perched on the top of Huangshan, everything here has to be transported in by porters. Despite this it is pure luxury. The beds and pillows are soft, there is excellent free wifi and a large TV, kettle, mini bar, hair dryer, plush towels, shampoo and thick... More

It's a bit strange to say it like this but when you live in China for a longer period of time and travel a lot you just want a Western hotel with a Western look, western service, English spoken staff and Western food. Add up a great location, very comfy rooms, great mattresses and surprisingly good Western food (we didn't... More

Currently...I think Xihai Hotel Huangshan is the best choice to stay at mountain top of Huangshan. Don't forget to pick Southern Wings on your booking, this one the best(new, northern building was old). After tiring walking up Mount Huangshan, it was really relief me that I booked the "right" hotel....it was really a great consolation for my kids and husband(... More

Stayed in the New Wing of the hotel. Thoughts as follows: - Expensive given the oligopoly status of the hotel up in the mountain. Price is about 2.5 times that of Crowne Plaza Huangshan. Much needed leg massage at lobby costs about 350rmb for 45 minutes and tips absolutely is expected. - Room. Nothing to wave about other than declaration... More
