Our room is OK regarding the expensive accommodations in this location. The buffet dinner is really expensive and the food is extremely poor (except the watermelon). During the fall, the heating is not sufficient thus be prepared.

I stayed here overnight recently on a vacation to China, Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotel is overpriced but options are limited on the mountain. My room was very, very noisy, facing the front entrance. I had trouble sleeping. The room is small and yes, the toilet is in the shower. The breakfast was not particulary good. The location was decent,... More

Good location, bit quite compare to others. Very expensive and nice staff except one man. He is the only one speaks english but quite impatient and you might feel he is rude, Certainly no smile or small talk. Room is not clean and bed is no different. People still smoking in no smoking area. Location very close to watching sun... More

Located on the top of the mountain with too small room and bathroom facilities. If you stay only for one or two nights and spend most of your time trekking around Huangshan area, this hotel will be a good place to stay. Restaurant, breakfast and room all average but with friendly staff

Planning our trip to Huangshan we understood that we want to stay at the top of mountains and that all hotels there would be overpriced. This is exactly relevant to Shilin hotel. In general the hotel is not bad; simply you need to understand that such location cost money, but not the hotel itself, I would rank it as 3*.... More

Ideally located for one night stop. You can catch sunrise just around the corner and sunset is not too far away. The Xihai canyon is also about 30mins hike away. The twin room is very cosy and we are able to see the Taiping cable car from our window. Room is clean but small. What to expect when everything is... More

This hotel located at the Mt. Huangshan. The nearest hotel to go to Lion Peak for those who wants to see the sunrise. Unfortunately I was late at that time so the Lion Peak already pack with people. Make sure you bring your coat or jacket because even I went there on summer, the condition is very cold up there,... More

Previous reviewers had very negative things to say about the Shilin Hotel. Perhaps they only stayed in 1 place on the mountain top and were not able to compare the Shilin to other hotels in the vicinity. We stayed in 3 hotels over 3 nights and this one of the better places(the worst was Hotel Baiyun). We arrived at 1:30... More

Stayed here overnight having booked a queen room with a view on ctrip. One of the most expensive hotels on our trip for a second rate hotel. Checked in only to find our queen room was actually a double. The room was so small I couldn't even squeeze to do a push up next to the bed. Not that I... More

I'm writing this as a budget backpacker who stayed in the dorm room of the hotel, not the even more ridiculously priced rooms. The hotel is at the top of the mountain in a decent location. All hotels here take advantage of people wanting to stay the night so all drinks, food and accommodation are overpriced and you don't get... More
