From the moment I arrived at the alley entryway to the HUI Boutique Hotel to the moment I departed just 48 hours later, I felt transported back into time. The owners were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming. They have taken great care to keep the charm of the building and to respect each individual guest's privacy. Great care and attention... More

This hotel and its owner cannot be faulted. What a perfect place to end our 4 weeks in China. Huangshan/Tunxi is a beautiful town with easy access to the famous Yellow Mountain and historical villages which are on the Unesco World Heritage sites list. We had eat communication with the owner prior to arriving who helped and advised us how... More

We arrived into Tunxi by bus from Hangzhou and caught a cab to the hotel for 20 Yuan. The hotel was a little hard to find, but our cab driver just called the hotel and they gave him directions. Wander down a little alley-way and you'll find the hotel. It opens up into a beautiful little courtyard covered with greenery... More

This is a really beautiful hotel full of charm and history with very helpful owners. It is located in the Old town which is the major attraction of Huangshan city. The hotel is beautifully furnished with antique furniture. It really feels like you have stepped back in time. Many of the rooms have an old traditional box bed that are... More

We stayed three nights at the Hui Boutique Hotel. I recommend it to anyone who likes a taste of authentic China in a warm atmosphere. Don't expect a Western hotel. Enjoy the atmosphere. Nothing is too much. We had wet wash. They took care of it and returned it to our room, no charge. Free fast wi-fi. Some English speaking... More

Firstly, if you’ve come to climb Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), I recommend staying in Tunxi (particularly the old town where Hui is located), rather than the comparatively bleak-looking Tangkou, the town at the base of Huangshan. Ben, who runs Hui, can organise transfers to-&-from the mountain, 200rmb one way (which if other guests are doing the same you can share and... More

We weren't expecting to find such a great option in Tunxi - this renovated old house is just a few steps off the main street in a little alley. The place is very nicely decorated with chinese antiques, it's very tasteful, we instantly fell in love with it. The owner speaks English well and is full of great advice, in... More

If you want to experience something unusual and different, go to this hotel. Well in fact it’s hardly a hotel in the strictest sense as they provide a room to stay but don’t have real facilities for meals. First of all in is located in the old section of Huangshan, Tunxi, literally 20 footsteps away from Old Street the main... More

This hotel is the perfect place to stay in Tunxi. Turning off the narrow alleyway you find yourself in a beautiful building ,greeted by a friendly dog. Our room was beautiful with a fantastic carved traditional Chinese bed. The staff despite their limited English were charming , friendly and helpful. We were warned that breakfast was basic but it was... More

The owner Ben learned his excellent English as a bartender in Shanghai and returned to Tunxi to open this hotel. Ben is helpful and friendly in a typically detached Chinese way. He can arrange a car for the trip to the mountain (about one hour each way 400 RMB for the day), or other things you might require (including pickup... More
