This hotel in Huangshan City (for some reason the airport is called Tunxi) caters mostly to Chinese people interested in hiking in The Yellow Mountains. I was there for an international conference hosted by China. Enough of the staff speaks at least some english so language is not a big issue. The hotel is just outside of the city on... More

This is a very spacious hotel with a gigantic lobby and very large rooms and corridors. It is totally comfortable although it is a bit of walk across the bridge to your rooms. Not much view...maybe they know everyone is headed to YELLOW MOUNTAIN for the views of a lifetime. We came and went on our Tour Bus but enjoyed... More

The hotel consists of three buildings which makes you walk a bit but the food is great. The staffs try to provide good service but it seems like they still need some more practice. In the restaurant a staff brought coffee but accidentally spilled some and brought it again. Even then, there was some coffee left on the plate. Although... More

The hotel has a good infrastructure and clean. It has 3 buildings so guests might expect a bit of walking in the compound. The food in the restaurants are good although staff in general appeared to be inexperienced. It's very near to the airport but far from the Huangshan Mountain (about 70 kms away).

We chose this hotel because it is convenient to the Tunxi/Huangshan (TXN) airport--only 5 minutes away, with free airport pickup, if you are able to arrange it (see below). The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful (although geared to Chinese tastes). The hotel also provides, on request, free rain ponchos and loaner hiking sticks (RMB100... More

The XiangMing Hotel is big and new but not without its problems. Problems first: 1. As already mentioned by other reviewers the air conditioning n the rooms we had did not work properly; 2. English is sporadic at best – ranging from good at the front desk to non-existent when I tried to call Housekeeping (not to mention that the... More

We stayed here two non-consecutive nights (first day of arrival, followed by one night up on Huangshan mountain, then we returned to this hotel for one more night). Pros: 1) Spacious, very clean, and well-appointed room 2) Beautiful hotel grounds with a large pond and covered walkways between buildings 3) Staff very helpful with giving local travel information, stowing our... My thoughts are almost identical to the poster below: this is an excellent hotel with a staff that aims to please. I had a room facing the lake, which was very quiet. The room was a nice size and had all the necessary amenities, including great air conditioning and very comfortable beds (firm but not too hard). Lovely rainshower in... More

This 5 star hotel is huge in every aspect. It is a large convention center at the front and guest rooms are located at the back. There is a lake in the middle of the complex. In the guest room building, and there are two of them, the corridors are the widest I've seen in any hotel. We stayed in... More

Excellent, brand new hotel, with very helpful staff. Good restaurants and excellent value in this Chinese hotel. Assistant Manager practically became our personal assistant during our stay, arranging private transportation and translation via mobile phone. Truly a memorable stay and a great starting point for our excursions to the mountain and villages
