Spent 3 days/2 nights in Altiplanico in middle of solo trip through Chile and I am so pleased that I did some research and read the previous reviews. From the moment I arrived after a 17 hour bus journey from La Serena I was made really welcome and the reception and restaurant staff throughout my stay were what every traveller... more

We stayed two nights here and I absolutely loved it. The staff were very helpful even when we turned up without a booking at night. The first night we were in a room far away from reception and it was magnificent - very spacious, immaculate, had an enormous bathroom and it was decorated to be elegant yet charming - nothing... more

First things first, if you stay here you really need your own vehicle.. while its only about 2.5km from town the road in is very dusty and its hot. we saw a few sad looking folk making the trek. that said the isolation is what we loved about being here (we had a a car). The room was spacious and... more

Based on the reviews we stayed a night at the Altiplanico. While visually the resort is nice, we were especially disappointed by the service which we found...well...wierd - we asked questions / requested various things, and were made to feel as if we were asking for something unreasonable (we weren't). Some of the food was good, but the breakfast was... more

My family and I stayed at Hotel Altiplanico Atacama in April during a 5 day-trip to San Pedro. Our room was located in the gardens of the hotel and was very spacious and nicely decorated in warm earth tones. We had a small terrace looking out to the garden. Our bathroom was huge and had an outdoor shower, which was... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in April, we arrived on a late flight from Calama and front desk stayed open to check us in. This was our last stop on a trip through Argentina and Chile. The room and grounds of the hotel fit the feel of San Pedro perfectly. The buildings are adobe, and the grounds are extremely well... more

We arrived from the early morning flight to Calama from Santiago on a very busy weekend, and it is possible that the fact that it was Easter weekend was the root of some of our problems here. Reception was extremely busy – we weren’t even offered a drink and had to hunt out one for ourselves. It transpired that drinks... more

Spent three nights here with two friends in a triple room. The room was lovely and cool, as was the bathroom. We had a little roof terrrace that we watched the sunset from. The grounds are amazing and very well kept. The pool is cool and refreshing, which is nice in the heat. Our experince was slightly let down by... more

I stayed at this hotel during a family trip to San Pedro de Atacama. We were delighted with all aspects of this hotel and would recommend it to anyone travelling in this area. I travelled with my husband and two children age 7 and 9 years. The grounds of this hotel were lovely and the rooms were unique and charming.... more

Hotel Altiplanico is a lovely respite from your normal 'luxury' hotel. The rooms are large adobe structures with comfy beds, minimal lighting and a modern, huge bathroom. The highlight of the room for me was the outdoor shower - it was so nice after a long day of hiking to star gaze from the shower! The grounds are relaxing and... more
