San Pedro de Atacama is a very special place and staying at Explora is a complete different experience. The staff is great, anything you can imagin is provided in the trips out of the hotel and this is made as comfortable as can be within the hotel's eco-limitations. We just returned from 3 nights at the Atacama Explora. It was truly a delightful experience. The rooms are understated but extremely comfortable and appropriate for the type area and type of travel. We did Explora Patagonia and Atacama combo package. It was an absolutely amazing experience – the guides, staff, walks, the hikes, horseback riding (horses are fine quality horses – take it from a real cowboy!) through the Oasis of San Pedro- everything. When we first arrived at Explora Atacama I was surprised at how plain everything looked but after a little exploring realized that this is indeed a remarkable facility.
