The hostel is old, dirty, dark and empty. I was so depressed that I couldn't sleep here not even one night and I decided to go to another place even though I had already paid the first night. Compared to other places in san pedro it's slightly cheaper and the locatio is good (on the main street), but still, I... More

We slept there three nights. The location is really good, but everything is a chaos. Every time we wanted to ask something, there was nobody at the reception. Two out of the three times breakfast was empty and we had to wait untill somebody could go to a supermarket or whatever. First we said that we wanted to stay two... More

It's not matter of comfort, but there were sand on all the beds, there is a bar next to the hostel and you can hear the loud music all night long. The showers have only cold water (at night the temperature is really low there in the desert!). Ok, if you are Alexander Supertramp you can enjoy it otherwise I... More

All rooms open into common courtyard where people drink/smoke/ chat or meet for early morning excursions, so noisy. Rooms are cramped, dirty and basic. Light fittings falling off walls etc. there's hardly any space for bags because of the overcrowded conditions. Some rooms look like a concentration camp. Bathroom and kitchen all awful. Toilet and shower Doors don't lock, they... More

This hostel certainly does not live up to HI standards. Ill start with the good - the staff were very friendly and helpful. I did most of the tours offered after checking with other agencies and these were among the cheaper. The tours were great a well organised. The bad - the bathrooms were not clean and it was a... I think it was the worst hostel i stayed during my trip. The staffs are very rude, the rooms are dirty and has no space to put your stuffs apropriatelly. The bathrooms are very cold and dirty. The only good thing is you can taje shower with hot water. Breakfast is bad too. I didn't like and for this reason... More

The lockers were a closet area where every one would put their bags in it and by the time you would get yours, it took a while to find it. The rooms are cold at night too, so it's not a place to go in the winter cause the walls had holes in them which made our room super cold.... More

I totally agree with the previous comments and Hostelling International is the worst hostal of Atacama. It's is very expensive for the worst quality ever seen: very durty, impossible to close the doors of the bathroom, no water for two days, very noisy, unsafe, etc (and we were in a private room!!!). When we tryied to explain it to the... More

Personal advise: don t book this hostel! Service absolutely poor. Rude, unfriendly and not good to tourists. To expensive, not clean, stinky noisy. I can recommend you all other hostels in SPA but not this one

Chose this hostel due to it's Hostelling International association as I have never had any issues with a HI hostel before. This hostel was so rundown that it was unsafe, and there was no security what so ever. There were no safes/lockers or even locks on the doors so anyone could enter at anytime. In fact my husband wasn't feeling... More
