We chose to be near downtown..so this is not a luxury hotel but certainly all you need. But it is well appointed and pleasant rooms are clean and grounds are well maintained Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast good , we did not have dinner but menu looked very good. We toured during the day and walked around the town at... More

Hotel Poblado Kimal is in a great location. So near the central square, but on the outside edge of the main hub of activity. When you step out, you are only a few steps from restaurants, bars, tour centers, shops, etc... yet when you step back in all the activity and bustle of the streets disappear and it is pure... More

Pros: - Great location - on the corner of the main street of town. A lot of the nicer hotels seem to be out of town a bit and I'm not sure how people get around given I didn't see any taxis during my stay so I think you would be stuck eating at the hotel a lot or riding... More

I booked it through hotels.com and got the impression it is a 4 star hotel. It is not. The hut is just like the picture very cute with a porch. Nice place to have a drink after a day in the desert. The hut is surrounded by green plants and the whole property has a eucalyptus aroma as soon as... More

Thanks so much for your comments. Just to add that the plastic on the roofs is not a permanent installation but an emergency measure on account of the the extremely intense weather conditions so usually the fully organic arquitecture is a huge plus for anyone with a taste for such an experience. Thanks again for taking the trouble to write. More

Me and a friend have stayed at the Poblado Kimal for 6 nights in March 2015. They are very strict with the check-in/out time but that's okay. Perfect location, only 5 minutes walking from every restaurants and tour agencies, which is a plus in San Pedro, as you have to walk everywhere. No TV or air conditioning, but believe me,... More

This is a little gem of a hotel, perfect location: half a block from Caracoles, but far enough from the noise. Rooms are quite big, with a fridge, a fan, a really comfortable bed and a small balcony with table and chairs. Bathroom was good too: big, lots of natural light and hot water all the time we were there.... More

Ver nice hotel. The rooms are little cabanas with small seating areas in front of it. The outdoor areas are nice. Out of 5 nights we only had breakfast once since our tours left early. But the hotel provided lunch bags and tea/coffee for those leaving early.

We stayed last year at the Poblado Kimal in San Pedro de Atacama, the hotel is very rustic, with small adobe villas. The main attraction is that it is a half a block away from the main street, which is very convenient. The restaurant was excellent and we ate at the restaurant all three days that we stayed there. The... More

Absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are amazing little cabanas with all the comfort you would want after a day of adventuring around. The outdoor areas are nice and the restaurant is good, though I would highly recommend venturing out for meals. Breakfast is REALLY good, though we rarely were able to enjoy since tours left early. When that happened... More

I read many reviews about this hotel before booking. We stayed here for 5 nights in Dec 2014. One must realize that San Pedro de Atacama is a VERY expensive place. It doesn't really look it…it is a small oasis village with adobe houses and basically dirt streets but of course, everything must be flown in via Calama (closest airport),... More
