Stayed at this hostel for 5 nights during my time in San Pedro. Throughout the time my single room and queen bed gave me a good nights rest after long days in the desert. It's about a 10-15 min walk from the main center of the town, but located ideally for those who have their own vehicle and want to... More

Booked online using the hostel bookers cell phone app. Good communication via email when I contacted the Hostel to confirm our reservation, in Spanish as they dont speak English. The hostel is very close to the bus station were we arrived to San Pedro and is about a 10 minuite walk to town. The hostel was very clean and tidy,... More

Having searched everywhere for something suitable for 3 young children and a visiting Sister-in-law from UK, our Santiago based family found Sumaj Jallpa extremely helpful. Email communication in Spanish was quick and effective as no English spoken by owner. Originally thought we had booked their cabana sleeping 6 on the main hostel site. However, on arrival late in evening realised... More

We booked three nights in private double with shared bathroom. From the bus station we need a transfer to the hostel, so we wrote an email 2 days before, if its possible to pick us up (they offer free pickup). We didnt get an answer, so we took a taxi to the hostel, because its not very near the city... More

I spent a few nights here with my 14 y.o. son in April 2011. We had a very basic room, with shared sanitary facilities (shower and toilet). Quite basic. But we found the place to be very clean and the staff very friendly. The pool table was an absolute "plus" for us. The only remark is the distance to the... More

We stayed at Sumaj Jallpa for about a week in total, a few days before leaving for Bolivia and then a couple days after returning. It was spotlessly clean, the shared bathroom was no problem at all since they kept it up so well. Simple rooms, just the necessities, but provide a common kitchen which contains all the basics you... Very peaceful hostel a 15 min walk from town. Make sure you arrange a shuttle to the hostel from the bus station because walking in the sun with luggage is no fun. Bring cash with you from wherever you come from too, but the hostel takes credit card. free shuttle to bus station is also a great help. Internet is... More

I was staying for three days in this hostel with my wife and our two boys. All in all, we were very content with the price-performance ratio of this place. I’d like to outline the cleanliness and the coziness of the rooms. The furniture is new and everything makes you feel at home. There is one lounge with billiards, TV... More

I chose this place after researching on Tripadvisor a cheap place for San Pedro. I would not recommend it for the following reasons: 1. Poor service: We arrived at 9pm at night after a delayed flight to discover that the booking I had made for our party of 5 for the double bed room and the triple room w private... More
