I have been in this hotel twice and I keep having bad experiences with the service, specially the front desk staff! The menus are a bit basic and expensive for what you get. It is a pretty handy location to visit the town attractions.

Never try to book this hotel by email. I tried twice and rang the hotel. Answer: we thought it was a spam, send it again. I did, no answer and rang again. Answer: We received it, wait for answer. Answer never came. Just in case, we dropped when arriving to La Serena but we were told there was no vacancy... More

Yes, the staff -- front desk and restaurant -- have weak skills speaking English but they make up for it with a genuine effort to explain themselves. The rooms are very well appointed. To turn the lights on you need to insert your room card in a holder near the door. Very clever device since it turns off the lights... More

This is a well located hotel (for town, not the beach), in a good state of repair, with large, clean rooms, drench showers with hot water at all times, lots of power outlets, clean linen and towels, reasonable breakfasts, and an excellent restaurant for dinner (surprisingly good!!). Most of the staff speak no English, but are extremely patient and helpful.... More

We spent three nights at this hotel with our baby and we were quite satisfied. We had a very large room, clean and with a big tub. Breakfast was ok, the restaurant could be a little better though (especially because it is quite expensive). The staff was friendly and helpful.

Not only is this place like something from Soviet-era Russia but it also has the most surly Communist-style staff I have ever experienced as well. A month after I stayed here I was going over my credit card statement and noticed that instead of US$143 a charge of over $175 had been put on my card by the sleazy management... More

Booked last minute so this was one of the only rooms I could find in town (during a national holiday). Rooms were fairly clean and provided the basics. Elevator and internet were out of order while I was there, not sure if this is normal course. Okay place for a basic stay.

I've stayed here several times as well as hotels at the beach. I prefer to stay here because it's in-town, reasonable walk to La Recova (market area) as well as the down town shops. This is an older hotel so if you are looking for updated/modern, you might try the beach area. It's clean and the staff are always helpful.... More

Was at the hotel for a night. Internet service from the room was weak and poor. The bathroom is great and the room wasn't bad. NO tour service for La Serena though.

The hotel was In great condition. Evidently the construction that others complained about has been completed. The hotel staff was very amiable, but I did not understand why I could not check in before 3 pm even though rooms were available. Like in much of Chile, the wifi connections were weak, but worked well in the lobby. Without a doubt,... More
