Have been there in a poor business trip, 1 night. Room 335 is small, Also the bathrrom, at least with tha chabge of owner, now it is a Diego Almagro Chain Hotel, they have put some effort in renovating, but it is a stitched experience. still carpet more or less, old furniture with water stains, chairs in the dining room... The hotel is centrally located in one of the most beautiful parts of town with great views and is a clean well kept property with friendly good service. Unfortunately the hotel is very old and in desperate need of a renovation. It's more of a business traveler hotel although the appliances and furnishings were from another era. Its breakfast buffet... More

The prices are high, but the service is sub-standard. We had to wait 20 minutes for check-in. The safe box in our room did not work, help came only after 30 minutes and several repeated requests to the reception staff. The worst was: We couldn't leave in the morning for 45 minutes, since our car was blocked on the hotel's... More

I have been in this hotel twice and I keep having bad experiences with the service, specially the front desk staff! The menus are a bit basic and expensive for what you get. It is a pretty handy location to visit the town attractions.

Never try to book this hotel by email. I tried twice and rang the hotel. Answer: we thought it was a spam, send it again. I did, no answer and rang again. Answer: We received it, wait for answer. Answer never came. Just in case, we dropped when arriving to La Serena but we were told there was no vacancy... More

Yes, the staff -- front desk and restaurant -- have weak skills speaking English but they make up for it with a genuine effort to explain themselves. The rooms are very well appointed. To turn the lights on you need to insert your room card in a holder near the door. Very clever device since it turns off the lights... More

This is a well located hotel (for town, not the beach), in a good state of repair, with large, clean rooms, drench showers with hot water at all times, lots of power outlets, clean linen and towels, reasonable breakfasts, and an excellent restaurant for dinner (surprisingly good!!). Most of the staff speak no English, but are extremely patient and helpful.... More

We spent three nights at this hotel with our baby and we were quite satisfied. We had a very large room, clean and with a big tub. Breakfast was ok, the restaurant could be a little better though (especially because it is quite expensive). The staff was friendly and helpful.

Not only is this place like something from Soviet-era Russia but it also has the most surly Communist-style staff I have ever experienced as well. A month after I stayed here I was going over my credit card statement and noticed that instead of US$143 a charge of over $175 had been put on my card by the sleazy management... More

Booked last minute so this was one of the only rooms I could find in town (during a national holiday). Rooms were fairly clean and provided the basics. Elevator and internet were out of order while I was there, not sure if this is normal course. Okay place for a basic stay.
