The hostel is really clean. Staff is really nice, and the manager is always looking after you. The tuk tuk chofer (recommended by them) was really nice, and gave us a really enjoyable tour. The prices in the hostel world page could look expensive, but they are for really good room. They have also cheaper rooms availables, which are also... More

When I got off the bus in Battambang, there were a million people trying to get me to stay at their hotel. Read about the Hotel Royal in the lonely planet so decided to stay there. Staff were very helpful and friendly and were very efficient when I wanted to rent a moto for the day etc. Would highly recommend... More

I had never been to Battambang and didn't know what to expect. I chose Hotel Royal online, based on a few reviews and the price. I am glad I chose to stay here! Due to flooding, there was a two-day delay in getting to Battambang. Even though I had booked through a third-party discounter, the manager happily postponed my reservation.... More

In general a good deal. Spaceuous rooms, friendly and helpfull staff, working equipment and in the very centre of town. Getting away we had a problem with a boat booking and the direction offered kindly to help. Also in the advantage of the hotel is the colonial touch still present, be it in het rooftop restaurant or in some art... More

I was picked up from the bus stop which was an unexpected surprise and made very welcome by the staff. The room was quite large and very quiet, the bathroom was clean and water hot. The location is great, a late afternoon stroll around the river area was a great end to the day.

We found this hotel well located and good value for money. It's aging, but still quite well maintained. Our room was comfortable and clean. Other comments about tuk tuk drivers and selling tours are accurate in our experience. We felt the tuk tuks here were overpriced, even with bargaining, but it was convenient. There's a couple of nice cafes nearby... More

We had a great time at the Royal Hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable, we had a TV and fridge, and we paid a dollar extra to have a hot shower, which was worth it. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, whether it was the reception staff, the cleaners or the tuktuk drivers,... More

We stayed a couple of nights at the Royal, and managed to bargain for it to be within our backpackers budget. We stayed in a twin room but sadly our hot water did not work, but we didn't bother to ask to get it fixed, so it's partly out fault! The staff were really friendly and they arranged our tuk... More

We had a good stay at Royal, the room was clean, with a fan that worked and running water. We liked that there was satellite tv and a fridge. We bargained and got a discount of a few dollars less than the asking price. Nothing in Asia bothers us anymore since we are veterans of travelling through SE Asia however,... More

My stay at the Hotel Royal was very comfortable. Upon checking in I was informed that I was upgraded from a Superior Room to a Deluxe Room, the difference between which I'm not certain but they made the gesture so that counts for something. My room was large, the beds comfortable and the bathroom very clean with an abundance of... More
