The hotel itself is cheap, but does not feel comfortable at all. The room itself (for 10$) was ok, but there was always light shining inside from the gangway and it was somewhat noisy. The lobby of the hotel is not really encouraging; there are 5-10 Khmer people waiting, mostly Tuktuk drivers, just doing all day what Tuktuk drivers do:... More

We paid $3 pppn for three in an air-con room. Could have paid $1.45 for a fan. Of course when we arrived the room we booked wasn't available, so we just switched to something else. If I was stuck up I could complain, but it's a cheapie hotel in Cambodia; you want the Ritz? Go to Bangkok. AC worked well,... More

At $2 a night for a dorm room (there was enough of us in the group to get a dorm room to ourselves), you really can't complain! The shared bathrooms are fully functional, even if they do not get cleaned as often as you would like. The actual dorm room itself has small mattresses on the floor, which are comfy... More

We stayed for one evening. The room was cheap - $5 which is fairly standard for budget travellers in Cambodia. The room itself was very sterile. It appeared to have a major infestation of hasslers. On arrival I met 'the owner' and 'his son' who led me to a room. Pleasent (or so I thought). It later turned out they... More

The hotel is alright. It is cheap (5 USD for a fan-room with TV). They offer a tourservice and I booked my bus to Phnom Penh through them. DON'T do that, it was the worst bus ride in southeast asia I had. Instead of 4 hours it took us 7 1/2 as the bus stopped every 10 minutes and people... More

As this place is is so cheap I'm not going to give it a bad rating (nor a good one) as 'average' perfectly suits it. It was disappointing that on arrival the guy at the desk tried to charge us almost double for the room saying that the price that we had booked for was actually for a dorm and... More

We did have any clue where to stay so we found this cheap hostel to stay. the room was very basic, no window but with aircon and clean. BUT the aircon did not work most of the time for us, this was crazy hot inside because outside was nearly 45 degrees so we did not sleep really well when we... More

We stayed for a few nights in this hotel. Overall, the room was cheap ($10 a night) and generally well appointed. However, the towels were far from clean and the rooms were not tidied daily. Our main issue was with the staff. They seem to spend the whole day watching tv in the lobby and looked aggrieved that we had... More

So when we arrived at the Chhaya Hotel we were offered a few options, dorms less than $3USD, double rooms with or without AC less than $12USD or an "apartment" for $25USD. We thought the double rooms looked a little small so asked to see an apartment, it was huge! My partner stayed waiting in the reception and I'm surprised... More

Basic hotel, good price. Stayed in an aircon double room with bathroom for $10/night. It was clean, quiet and even had some furniture. Comfy beds, but odd pillows. Aircon didn't work too well but kept the room cool enough, and there was a minifridge but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Didn't really interact with the staff,... More
