I booked this from Kalaw as I was hiking to Inle Lake. The room was basic but clean with comfortable beds. The shower facilities were good enough although I had problems with the locks. The staff were friendly and let me shower after my stay had ended and I got a bus in the evening. The main issue I had... More

Stayed 2 nights. Pretty average for the price ($18 dbl) in Myanmar. Double room with tile flooring, a fan and shower/toilet combo. Staff seemed a little bored and spoke little English. Towels were really rough and the bathroom had hundreds of ants in it. I believe you can probably get better in nyaungshwe for the price but a solid choice... More

You pay for what you get in the Myanmar terms. No air con in our room but a good hot shower. Old but good for a short stay. Breakfast was good and staff helped me to book a bus. Internet didn't work that well but this is in the whole country. It's in a street with no asphalt so get... More

For a backpacker a nice place to hang out. I stayed here 9 days, and it's good value for money. In the morning they serve eggs with toast, jam, butter and some fruit on the balcony. The balcony is a nice place to hang out, meet people, find people to share a boat trip or just to relax. Wifi is working... More

The breakfast area in the second floor terrace is a good location for seeing the locals unloading large baskets of vegetables from the canal. The room was dusty and the floor needs some sweeping when I checked in. They require guests to leave their slippers/shoes before the stairs, so it's hard not to notice if the floor is dirty. The... We stayed 2 nights at the Joy Hotel. Location is interesting. In the morning, during the LONG wait for breakfast, we watched the longboats docking in the canal across the road, unloading large baskets of vegetables. Men would carry the large baskets of tomatoes or melons from there to the markets around town. Our room was clean. There was sometimes... More

The rooms were basic, but the beds were comfortable. The the shower was not clean and very dark, but hot. Quite a few bugs roaming around in the room too. Staff was not overly friendly or helpful, and breakfast was mediocre at best. You can find nicer places for the same price if you walk around a bit.

We were only able to stay at joy for 1 night as they were fully booked the next day. However, we enjoyed our stay. We paid $18 for a massive room for 2 people. The room was fan (didn't need aircon). It had a tv (didn't work too well though) but impressively had a fridge which was nice for keeping... More

I think is not the better option in Nyaungshwe for sure......rooms are old and bathroom too, breakfast is not bad,but on the terrace is very cold in the morning and you must be without shoes.People staff at night knows nothing of english andif need something nobody understand you.The better thing of the hotel is its location, close to a canal and to... We were looking for a place to stay in Nyaungshwe for couple of days, and we went to Joy. ( the only available when we searched.) The location is not so bad ( there is delicious coconut fried cake 2 streets from there), and the room are quite clean, but the staff makes it bad. Actually, not all the staff,... More
