We stayed at Joy Hostel for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The location is very nice, by the canal with the market and all the locals loading fruit and vegetables on the boats. We could watch this beautiful scenery every morning from the balcony where the breakfast takes place. We stayed in a double room with fan and... More

I stayed 3 weeks in that hotel, in the charming room A1, and I really enjoyed my stay here. Though the price and the quality is not that different from other hotels, the location is great, along a small and busy canal. So you can observe dozens of people carrying baskets full with tomatoes, colourful headscarves, and real people's life.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights to see the Inle Lake area. It's basic accommodation, but pretty good for it's price range in Myanmar. We paid $25 per night for a very big double room with attached bathroom. The communal balcony was a great place to meet other travellers and compare notes and the staff were really friendly. A few... left with not much choices for budget travelers in Inle... this is a good option, better if you can share the rooms..I had two beds in my room with its own toilet..rooms 201-203 I think is good option far from the breakfast area...staff is not as enthusiastic but the location is nice because its near the market which makes it... Well, hotels in Myanmar are generally overpriced. We've paid 22$ for a twin with shared bathroom while the same anywhere else in SEA (except maybe Thai islands) would cost less than 10$, but we accepted it before coming to this country. We won't complain about the room standards. But for that price I think that we can demand some cleanness... More

We spent a few nights at Joy Hotel, before leaving for a hotel with brick walled rooms. The staff are lovely at Joys, the breakfast was the best we had in Myanmar (with black coffee or looseleaf tea instead of the 3-in-1 coffee mix) - but I was kept awake at night by the noise. We stayed in the upstairs... More

USD$30 for a small room with nothing but a double bed and an ice-cold shower is a bit of a joke, even by Myanmar standards. But that was what we found here. The breakfast was ordinary and took a long time to come. A 45-minute wait was common, cold eggs a certainty and one morning we were served mouldy bread.... More

Nice place. Good generous breakfast, very helpful staff and has a really nice vibe. All the guests seem to mingle and was a very good experience. The girls running the place are very nice and the tour for either 15,000 or 20,000 is good value as you can put a notice up and ask for other people to join. Their... More

Right next to the main channel. Excellent outside deck for breakfast. We paid 18USD for a twin room. Very gently staff. My girlfriend forgot her iPhone in the bedroom and they send it to the airport efficiently!
