We had two interconnecting lodges for our 6 and 9 year olds, and the lodges were great, nicely decorated, views over canal and paddy fields. This was a great place to finish up after two days trekking! Breakfast was fantastic and was a real surprise after a week or two of pretty standard myanmar breakfasts, also had dinner here one... As drive up - and mind you, you are driving across a sketchy bridge and sharing it with pedestrians, scooters, bikes, and opposite direction traffic - the place doesn't look terribly promising. This hotel, as was the case with the place I stayed in Yangon, was recommended by a friend who spent six months in Myanmar. The lobby seemed sort... More

Initially on arrival, we regretted not staying on the lake itself, the location was not quite as expected being in the middle of the main town, but once we had been out onto the lake we liked the feeling of coming back into town and being in the middle of a Burmese town, seeing life going on all around us.... I just stayed at Viewpoint for 3 nights and overall was very happy with the choice. First - location - I was torn whether to stay on the lake or in town. I wish I had stayed on the lake rather than in town due to the noise and what I assume must be generally more peaceful ambience on the... More

It hurts me not to give an excellent grade and that only because of the quality of the internet access. Amazing place also featuring amazing Myanmar inspired food for even room service in your hut overseeing rice fields.

ViewPoint Lodge and Fine Cuisines is a great hotel in Inle Lake. It was built above the river and provides a great view of the place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In our first night there the barman helped us a lot with a good explanation and tips about "must-visit" places around the city. The location is perfect!... More

went there in low season and it's a super good deal. very nice deco and the pond is awesome. That gives you a feel of the lake but you don't have to stay in the middle of nowhere (which is where most of the other upmarket resorts at the lake is like) The breakfast is awesome too! I tried the... More

Nyaungshwe, at the northern end of Inle Lake, is a sleepy little town with lots of personality. Walk the unpaved road at night and you find interesting little cafes and shops. The day market is clearly not touristy and very neat to walk around. Right on a private canal at the end of the main road and over a scary... More

We loved Inle lake....its surrounded by big tropical canal, nice local people and the simple life of the local that made us feel relax. The hotel is very nice, small boutique hotels with all facilities you will need. We love our bed with the mosquito net hanging down the ceiling and the minibar which is made of wood and we... More
