Rooms were spatious, clean, and nicely arranged. Also very quiet, as every room neighbors only one other room. Activities of locals and tourists start early in the morning though, so adapt to the rhythm and don't expect to sleep in very late. We liked the location very much, as it is in Nyaung Shwe and not on the Inle Lake... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Accommodation was a very cute cabin -loved the mosquito net over the 4 poster bed, which staff unravelled every night. The lodge has an emphasis on high quality (and safely handled) cuisine. The food not only met our expectations but exceeded them; as a result we took all meals in the lodge. The hotel is... More

The Viewpoint Hotel sits at the foot of the bridge over the canal leading into Lake Inle. Not a quiet location, especially if the local temple plays its early morning prayer chants, but so convenient for the canal landing and access to the attractions of the lake. Each eco-constructed cottage sits on stilts above the canal. Lovely views over the... More

Although slightly expensive for Myanmar standards, well worth the money. We stayed in a cottage which was spacious and beautifully decorated. We particularly enjoyed having our own terrace over the water to relax on in the evenings. The staff were super friendly and helpful, particularly the GM. The hotel is well located, a very short walk from the main streets... More

Although it was rather expensive for Myanmar standards, the value was definitely worth it. The cabin we stayed in was like a small little house with a small living room and a great bathroom. Everything was very wel thought of and most important the restaurant is one of the best we visited in Myanmar. And after a long day of... More

Charming hotel - the rooms are all small villas on stilts in a little lake. Location is great, just on the edge of town near the river (from where all the boat trips depart from to Inle lake). Food is great and the staff are wonderful. Definitely my top recommendation for this area.

We stayed at Viewpoint for two nights in a cottage on stilts. The setting, cottage and main building were all perfect. We had drinks on our balcony overlooking the rice fields followed by dinner in the restaurant and all excellent. Friendly, helpful staff. A good place to stay as its in town and better than being at one of the... More

We came only for dinner and tried the tasting menu with a wide variety of Shan dishes -- the restaurant environment was very nice and we enjoyed trying out the many salads and curries. The local wine wasnt to our taste, but the many other drinks and wines were excellent

Yes, great location, good size cottages and staff who were very charming and always smiling. The convenience to the tourist boats that take you to Inle lake was excellent and to sit in the upstairs restaurant and watch daily life on the river was wonderful. A 10 minute stroll into Nyaungshwe allowed you access to the day and night activities... More

Viewpoint offers beautifully appointed wooden chalets which each sit on stilts. Everything in the construction and operation of the hotel has taken account of its ecological impact - but that need not impact your stay at all. The hotel restaurant serves the most fantastic food - mainly centred on the local Shan cuisine. But the prices are very reasonable, even... More
