This little hotel consisting of 24 suites is mostly on stilts over a small lake. It was not top luxury but very comfortable, very clean, spacious, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fantastic. I loved the food there. Taste, presentation and creativity superb. The Internet was poor but there is so much to see and do... More

Nice eco friendly rooms, nice restaurant with good food, though pricey. Friendly staff. There is no fridge in the room but they provide an ice bin to keep your drinks chilled, quite cool. Tap water is potable, that's beyond expectation! Only gripe is wifi not working in the rooms.

Watching the sun set over the western mountains from our little porch at View point Lodge was peaceful and serene. While located just off the major canal in Nyaunge Shwe, these sweet bungalows are very quiet and cozy (well, quiet at nighttime, anyway, once the boat and vehicle traffic dies down). A family member had stayed here a few years... More

The Viewpoint restaurant is a very enjoyable setting for discovering local shan cooking within a high quality western style setting, courteous and helpful staff serve delicious dishes at reasonable prices. We loved the basil beef, the shan tasting menu and the vegetable fried rice, accompanied by the local athaya sauvignon blanc (the red mountain is not so good). The second... More

The spacious cottages are vey good sitting on the water, the hotel is next to the canal. The staff were very helpful and it was nice to be offered a drink whilst checking in and have an option choosing what you wanted. The breakfast was excellent served on wooden platter boats which complemented surrounding area. Good location for exploring the... More

This hotel sits over a static piece of water in close proximity to the main canal that links Nyaungshwe to Lake Inle. The photos that you see when you book this hotel may suggest that you will be sitting out on a point in cottages over the lake - not exactly how it is, especially in the daylight hours when... More

Viewpoint hotel is a true boutique. Your welcome drink is champagne. Gorgeous relaxed lobby, with fireplace and fine restaurant. Had an unforgettable New Years Eve dinner and celebration here. Rooms float over still water just off the river. Amazingly tranquil considering it is located on a hectic road with motor noise from boats and tractors. Rooms are romantic with Mosquito... More

This was the most up-market hotel we stayed in, in Myanmar. It was beautiful. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean with a great attention to detail. We especially loved the organic products in the bathroom and the 'make-your-own' shampoo and soap. Unfortunately our room was next to reception so we didn't have a view at all. I expect having... This is quite a good hotel. It is billed as being excellent for food but I would say it is fine rather than excellent. The rooms are very nice and it is probably one of the better town based hotels from which to base yourself if you want to explore. However when we took the boat to the next hotel... More

was here for dinner celebrating a friends birthday. its a nice place but can't really justify the price we paid for the meal. the food was nice but not that nice and the same goes for the service. again its wasn't that bad but its nearly western prices and personally i don't feel it was worth it.
