As per another recent reviewer, we felt this hotel has had unnecessarily negative reviews by some. Power cuts are currently a feature of life in Myanmar and the wi-fi in the country is less than speedy. However, given these constraints, the Manawthuka does as well as anywhere, and the pricing reflects it's location 5/10 minutes walk from town. The staff... More

The hotel is at the very end of the main road, in the opposite direction than the canal. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the boats to go to the lake and about 10 minutes to reach most of the restaurants in town. We had a bungalow and enjoyed it. It was spacious and clean, and the bathroom... More

I do not understand the negative reviews on here... perhaps the rooms other reviewers had were from the main building, but we received the bungalow, and stayed for 3 nights. It was very spacious and extremely clean with minimal, but nice looking furniture. We had absolutely no issues with hot water - in fact, it was probably the best shower... More

the hotel is at the further end of the town, its just a short walk to the heart of the town and far enough to be away from the bustling. i will still highly recommend this place just because of the excellent service provided by the staff. they really go all out to help you with your needs. makes our... Very nice hotel and they are trying really hard! The staff were amazingly friendly and generous- I stayed there over New Year's eve and they provided all guests a free New Year's dinner. Great breakfast outside. The only downsides were 1) it takes a while for hot water to kick in (though they were quick to send someone to check... More

Overall a nice and quiet place. The breakfast was exceptionally good, the rooms clean, but electricity, wifi and ac had to be restarted on a regular basis after our complaints. The staff was friendly to us but they obviously cheated on the driver they arranged for us which made the 9 hour trip to Bagan with him not very pleasant.

We move to this hotel from anotherone down the road and stayed here for two nights. The rooms are newly equieped and very pleasent, so is the bathroom. They have veru nice buffet breakfast including panecakes, fresh fruits, eggs, tee, coffe, ... . Also the WiFi is working well and fast. The main downsides are the location (which is no... More

I booked a night here through Agoda only because it was the only space available on Christmas Day and because I was required to have an advance hotel reservation at the end of my Kalaw-to-Inle lake trek. I paid $42 for a double room and feel that for this price, I should have been offered a lot more. My bathroom... More

We stayed for two nights at the Hotel Manaw Thu Kha in the Lake Inle region of Myanmar. It was not one of the high priced posh new lakeside resorts. It’s more like a 15 unit motel built in appealing red brick. From the outside, it seemed like a quality establishment. We were not pleased with our stay and think... More

I really am sorry to give this hotel such a poor rating because the staff were really friendly especially the gentlemen who is the owner but we felt like we had ended up in faulty towers. First of all the hotel is adding more rooms so the whole place is a building site, they told us that after 5pm it... More
