The owner, good english speaker, is honest, clear on what is aloud and what not, so you will not have any unexpected surprise and is extremely kind and helpful. The stuff have some more problem with english, so communication can be difficult, but they never give up and they do a lot to give to the clients what they need.... More

Well located guest house with a beautiful garden and a lobby. We've met many people in our short stay there and from my opinion it's mainly because of these common parts were people tend to take a long breakfast, a beer or just chill there. Rooms are nice but isolation could be better. The staff is very friendly and helpful... More

May guesthouse has a great location and really beautiful rooms and gardens, the manager is really friendly and helpful and all in all it is a really lovely place. The only complaint is that the walls are very thin, although there are signs to keep quiet after 10pm, my sleep was disturbed by other guests talking and hearing them use... More

This guesthouse is in a quiet area and not far away from the city center. The Manager is really friendly and helpful (money exchange, booking a bus etc.) Clean rooms, nice garden. The breakfast is basic but good.

Like a previous reviewer I fell ill while staying here. The owner gave me electrolytes to help me recover and offered to help several times. The rooms are quite comfy and the staff clean them very well. It is true that the towels are postage stamp-sized and the walls are a bit thin but the towels are replaced daily and... More

I was ill whilst I was at May Guesthouse (food poisoning, not from the guesthouse), the kindness and generosity of the manager went above and beyond to ensure I was looked after and comfortable. The guesthouse itself is clean and comfy, the walls are a little thin but no problem sleeping. Thankyou very much

Clean room, good breakfast, helpful staff, lovely garden and terrace area, serves nice cold beer, nice dogs hanging around, and the only place in Myanmar that could sell you a postcard, as far as I saw. They hired us pushbikes for 1000ks, very cheap, and organised taxis and everything we needed for our departure. Thin walls means it can be... More

May helped us with a lot of planning! They have maps for bike tours, you can book a laketour, The rooms were basic but clean (hard beds!) the breakfast is delicious in the lovely garden! Also nice to just sit and relax in the garden! Of we have to say something neg: the mosk started singing at 5 am and... More

I stayed at this guesthouse during my visit to Inle Lake. Unfortunately this hitherto highly rated guesthouse characterizes everything that seems to be going wrong in the tourist industry in Myanmar. After being asked to pay 5 dollars to go down three blocks from the waterfront to the guesthouse, I was greeted by staff who weren't sure whether or not... More

May Guesthouse has wonderful common areas with the garden restaurant serving a great breakfast (unlimited pancakes, yes please!). The staff is so helpful and friendly, they make you feel right at home. The room walls are however INCREDIBLY thin, you can even hear your neighbours whispering. The noise situation can be an issue, so this hotel is not for everyone.... More
