We turned up at 3am without reservation and the staff were brilliant about it! May is a super cute guest house in a central location. The staff were all very friendly and so helpful - they helped with directions, bike rentals, taxi and tour bookings. The included breakfast was tasty and served very quickly as soon as you wandered onto... More

$25 for a double room is more of a flashpacker than backpacker rate in Myanamr but the service you get for it definitely compensates: breakfast inc (scrambled eggs, toast, jam and tea/coffee), waterbottle everyday, daily change of towels and bed sheets and overall really helpful recommendations and indications from the staff at the reception. Only downside is that the area... More

Very cute and clean guesthouse. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have running hot water. There is plenty of outdoor space to just sit and relax. Wifi is quite good throughout the entire area. Although, the walls are paper thin, it's not a very noisy place. The only con is the 5 am prayer that comes over the loud... More

Really kind people welcomed me and helped me do everything from rent a bicycle to find the winery to book a bus. Quiet, comfortable rooms. And the WiFi was much better than the rest of Myanmar. Rooms included breakfast. I can't recommend this place enough.

The rooms are nice enough and clean, the beds comfortable with enough blankets to face the cold december night. Unfortunately, the walls are very thin. A good breakfast is included. The owner is very friendly, as are the two cats living around the guesthouse. Be sure to check out the wonderful Gardenia restaurant, which is located on the same street.

This place was very nice. Clean rooms and enough space. Own bathroom was good. Breakfast was nice. Owner was nice and staff always helpful. Downside: curfew is 22.30, what can be too early. The walls might be too thin: neighbors got upset around 22.00 because we were just talking together in the room. I never heard any of the neighbors... More

For the price we expected a little better. On first Arriving the place seemed lovely but the paper thin walls resulted in us being woken up multiple times throughout both nights.you can also hear people's toilet noises.showers were awful when using at the same time as others.breakfast is good and staff are friendly enough.completely cocked up getting a bus for... I am a solo traveller, holidaying on a tight budget so May Guest House suited me well. The staff are helpful, they even found people to share my boat ride with me - reducing the cost. Breakfast is basic but good enough and the rooms are clean. The walls are very thin, I felt like the people next door were... More

I really liked this place. Rooms are simple and fairly small but functional and we had our own bathroom. Showers were hot and powerful and beds were comfortable. Noise proofing isn't great but everyone was quiet after 10pm or so, so we slept well. We paid $30 per night for a twin room and made the reservation ourselves by emailing... More

This guesthouse is clean, the environment makes you so relaxing. Their staff are very friendly and helpful. We are two people and their staff helps us to find other to share the boat / car cost. Overall the guesthouse is very good, except the thin wood wall - you can hear next room speaking. They have the rule to close... More
