I never complain about simple rooms as long as the price is adequate to the standard. In other parts of Myanmar we had new rooms in excellent condition for the same price, so when we saw our room in Teakwood we were dissapointed, it was definitely not good value for money. Our room was located on the ground floor in... More

Do you really need to know anything else? Great stay, definitely worth the price. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was fairly dry, mosquito net provided. Great location. Decent Wi-Fi. We were sad to leave!

close to bus drop off place. Had triple bed room. Allow to have early morning check in. Hot shower, fan and balcony. USD45/nite. Staff are not so friendly, boat trip from hotel is expensive, use outside provider instead. Also Bus fare offered was much more expensive, we book from local tour agent instead. just walk to market and you will find... More

Despite the fact that this hotel is at the top level in the Lonely Planet, we have been disappointed because the price of the room was in our opinion too high for the quality offered. We had a “standard” room in the old building, with no pure white sheets, only cold water in the sink (but hot water in the... More

Reasonable price, especially in comparison to other hotels in the area, great location, 5 minutes walk from restaurants, market, shopping, banks, travel agents, and the water. Good breakfast, clean rooms, nice bathrooms. Wifi can be slow, Helpful staff. Owner can organize trips, but best to check with other travel agents who are much cheaper. There is a shower and bathroom... More

I stayed here for a night on my recent trip to myanmar when we were visiting Inle Lake and loved it! It is in a great location near the restaurants of the town and a short walk to the boat station where you get trips on the lake. The owners are lovely and incredibly helpful, they will look after luggage... More

Stayed here 14 years ago so returned for nostalgic reasons, this time with kids in tow. They have built a new concrete block with bigger rooms next door, but we chose the simple, smaller teak-walled rooms which are cheaper and have far more character. No TV in the room - great! Our kids were welcome to watch TV with the... More

I read some of the criticizing comments, but still decided to stay. In my opinion, the stay was lovely. I don't have much to compare to in nyaung shwe, but some other locations I've seen don't compare to this Inn. The bed, for example, is great. The shower is organized nearly and comfortably. And yes, the atmosphere and the design... More

Stayed here after being referred by the staff at Kaday Aung Hotel in Bagan, stating it was a "sister hotel". Kaday Aung was delightful and whilst the Teakwood Hotel has many positives, the rooms lacked character. We stayed in the new wing, so room was spacious, very clean with nice bathroom & air conditioning, comfortable bed. It just lacked the... More

The hotel was alright, central, clean, decent. The owner was really helpful and gave lots of tips. Previous reviews are mostly saying how she's pushy, which I didn't think at all. I found her tips quite helpful. She's just very loud, outgoing and enthusiastic which some people might take wrongly. The tour we booked through her was great, we saw... More
