Stayed here for two nights in the dormitory which was OK. The shower and toilet facilities not the best i.e. the doors didn't shut properly but the staff were very pleasant and very helpful. We stayed here following a night spent at the PBI hostel anything after that is a palace. All in all we didn't find it too bad... more

We stayed at the Hikers Hostel for one night on recommendation from Lonely Planet - bad choice. The single dorm room is cramped and smelly - the blankets thin and scratchy. We have just returned from a week at the Hikers Hostel in Veliko Tarnovo. The hostel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The stuff treat their guests well... train station pickup, great common area and breakfast, what more do you need? We enjoyed the stunning spectacle ‘Sound and Light’ from our room, overlooking the fortress.... more

Loved this hostel, was up the hill in Veliko, with a cosy lounge room with internet and books, and an amazing terrace with views over the fort, so you can catch the light show at night. Rooms pretty good for hostels, showers and toilets clean and fine. Great staff - especially Mike - get his Abanasi tour (sp?), he'll show... more

The hostel has lovely views over to the fortress (but in winter it is very foggy so not much to be seen) and the staff are friendly. However, the hostel is not good for winter because you must go outside to connect between the common room or kitchen and the dorms or the dorms and the toilet/shower. The rooms themselves... more
