The guest house is well situated in front of the beach, an advice is to take the room deluxe with a veranda facing the sea ! The atmosphere is really agreeable with the cool owners, rabbits with a cat spirits sharing the living room, place to park the car. You quickly feel home. If you are in backpackers spirit so... More

I would recommend this place to anyone! The best part about our experience was that the people were so helpful! Joao speaks English and helped us decide on the best places to visit and then helped direct us to where we needed to go! He also helped us find great (and cheap!) places to eat. The location is a little... More

Just a few steps from the beach, you can go to sleep with the sound of the ocean. It has a great place to cook and is close to some shops to buy some groceries. Atmosphere is great, everybody is very friendly and helpful. It's a very relaxing place and it feels more like home.

Cracking spot run by fantastic people. Some of the most beautiful coastline I've come across. Loads to explore. Pousada located directly opposite a beautiful beach, far away enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. Close enough to get into town by foot. Owners very knowledgable on the area, making day trips to incredible places possible (info that is not available in... More

I have been here now two times. The location of this pusada is the best. You are right at the most beautifull beach of Ubatuba! To town you have a short walk which makes it fine to do in the evenings. But there are also enaugh bars/restaurant in this area. The pousada is run by this nice family. All rooms... More

Room- We booked a private room with a shared bathroom, but because it was off season we got upgraded free of charge to a private ensuite which was a great welcome! Rooms were clean, comfy beds with tv and air con. Food- Breakfast is brought to you in a tray, giving you an option to eat it in your room... More

I cannot recommend Tropical Dolphin highly enough. Perfect location, incredible hosts and great atmosphere. The social area is so comfortable and relaxing, Darryl and Denise are such amazing hosts and they have done such a fantastic job with the place - beautiful mosaics, paintings and even a waterfall. They love what they do and this becomes clear on the warmth... More

Cracking hostel right in front of a quite and pretty beach with great, comfy rooms, a wonderful lay out and a most welcoming and friendly family running the show who are willing to help with trips about the place if you need. We had a really fantastic time, everything we wanted and more.

When I travelled in Europe I stayed at Youth Hostels, and enjoyed visiting each one, the experience, new people, new friends. Golfinho Tropical has that sort of feeling for me. Relaxing, extended family feeling. I've been there a few times over a 10 year period, always meeting new people, and exploring new parts of the coastline. I've been a part... More

me and my buddy went to Ubatuba in April. We found Tropical Dolphin, planed to stay 3 nights but ended up staying for 10 days. Hostel is right on the beach and has everything we needed. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a family run hostel and pousada infront of the beach and have been open for 15 years. The guests are made to feel at home as we have a humble place that was built slowly over the years with a lot of blood, sweat and tears so it does have a soul to it with birds and rabbits been part of the family. .We will do our best to guide you on what ever you want to do during your stay. The hostel/pousada is in a cheap, residential eating area so you can see the true Brazilian way of life as it is compared to the down town tourist part. Bicycles are the main form of transport and there are cycle tracks that will take you all over town and to a lot of the surfing beaches. Trails, bike hire, surf boards, can be arranged by us. Only the four more expensive sea view suites are a good size with a big veranda, a hammock and table. The suite has a fridge, TV, fan and sleeps up to four people. The other rooms are smaller basic economic suites do not have all creature comforts. There are photos when booking. We have a kitchen area to use connecting to the lounge. We have 101 beaches to choose from with most of them being in a protected rain forest reserve. We take guests out on day trails to visit the rain forest and its native people. Surf boards and bikes can also be hired. The cycle track in front of the property will take you downtown and to 5 other beaches in the south. ... more   less
