Only a few minutes by foot from Paulista Avenue and other major spots in São Paulo, Matsubara Hotel has a great service and it is a great place to stay if you are planning to go to São Paulo on a business or tourism trip.

The hotel is ok. Already got a bit older it offers futuristic architecture from the 70s. The staff is very attentive and as 'all' people are in Brasil very friendly and cheerful. However, we recommend the Japanese restaurant in the hotel. Sushi prepared so freshly and with real passion you'll have not had before! A must in Sao Paulo. And... More

Nice hotel, Japanese themed and catering to the Japanese business community, fairly well located. Only one small restaurant nearby, easy to walk to, weigh the food. Hotel appointments very nice, but the internet leaves something to be desired. It's free throughout the hotel, but it doesn't stay working. They had to bring a special router and install in our room... More

I went to Sao Paulo for business and stayed at Matsubara Hotel. The Hotel is really nice but the WiFi is terrible. I liked the buffet Breakfast and the look&feel of the Hotel. I totally recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for over a week: very helpful staff, rooms are clean and were big enough for me, bed is comfortable, check-in and check-out was straight forward, no problems. They serve western and japanese style breakfast, really liked the japanese one. Walking distance to small restaurants, convenience store and Shopping Paulista, don't know about Metro station since I didn't use... More

Matsubara is close to Paraíso metro station and Av. 23 de Maio (good features for displacement in São Paulo) - it resembles a business hotel. There's a self-playing piano at the reception and a bar. The ambient is very welcoming and rather elegant (although the hotel also receives tourist families and couples). The breakfast is impeccable and the hotel offers... More

I stayed 2 night, let's commnet about room condition and restuarant. It was not bad compare to another same class hotel in Sao paolo. But the location is poor to take public transportation. It takes 15 minutes to go to hotel from Paulista main street by car. Room was a little bit small, old but tidy and clean, and was... More

Well, for starter I must say that I haven't payed full rates to stay at this hotel. For me it cost about R$ 250 per day. Their normal rates start at R$ 600 (US$ 350), and that was a relief, since this hotel isn't worth half of that. The location is quite good to be honest. There is a subway... More

Lets start with the positives: The rooms and the sushi bar food is OK. Now let's move on to the rest. The restaurant is appalling. I don't know what they have done to the fruit juice at breakfast but it is pretty much undrinkable- I guess it's diluted or made from powder. The service in the restaurant is also very... More

Definitely no value for the money. I stayed for 3 weeks and would rather not stay at this one again. Very disappointing. Positive: Sushi bar/restaurant - good service, good food, but one cannot live on sushi or Japanese food alone day in and day out. Free wi-fi, although connection is not stable (anywhere from 6Mbps to 65 Mbps, on any... More
