I always stay at this hotel, generally more than a couple of days and always the service was excellent, very friendly in the front desk. The breakfast is very good, with tropical fruits, a wide variety of breads and cakes. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The pillows aren't good :(

This was a decent hotel offering excellent value for money even during World Cup. The hotel has 14 floors but surprisingly no bar and restaurant on the ground floor rarely open. That said the hotel is just across road from a whole area of bars and restaurants. Even on top floors the room was noisy at night from street traffic... More

I'very got the top floor room with city view. Room is clean and spacious. This hotel is located in the centre of the city, Near the republica metro about 200m away. I went during World cup and attended the fan fest in anguhau valley, which is walkable from the hotel 600m. Reception staffs able to speak some English or even... More

Even with the busy times of the world cup the staff at this establishment were uber nice, the hotels location is excellent and smack bang in the middle of town, there is entertainment galore and great places to eat. The rooms are clean and all setup nicely

The vicinity of the hotel provides a lot of activities and dining for little walking, the room rates are reasonable, but the walls seem paper thin. Be prepared to hear every cough, phone ring, chair drag, and toilet flush from your neighbors.

This was clearly a stunning hotel years ago. It seems very basic and simple now . The room was clean and quite large. The shower was huge with brilliant hot water . Breakfast was very basic but a little more than other hotels . The reception staff did not speak English - in fact, Wellington the porter spoke more English.... More

Overpriced for it's no frills environment but acceptable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, except for 1 individual that works the evening shift. This hotel is surrounded by a very vibrant local community so there are many shops and restaurants in the immediate area. Neighborhood isn't as high end at is was years ago but no bothersome riff-raff milling... More

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, but then I am very picky. It is located in a neighborhood that used to be good but that went downhill over the last 10-15 years. The hotel itself is very old, apart from a few cosmetic fixes, mostly in the lobby area. The rooms are terrible and pretty... More

During different stays, I have spent at this hotel a total of about 70 days. Overall, I am pleased with the hotel. I agree with the initial reviewer about the restaurant (ground floor). It is not very good. However, the restaurant on the upper floor where breakfast is served is quite good. The hotel is in a good area on... More

The only nice thing is the Lobby (probably done on purpose to attract customers). The rooms and bathrooms are outdated. The air conditioning/heating system is extremely noisy, you might just as well sleep next to a jet engine. Overall the food is very bad, the service is slow,... in other words, don't stay there!

Staying in Republica

Neighborhood Profile
Republica
Part of the historical center of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighborhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
