We had a great sized suite at this hotel which was tidy, freshly decorated and very comfortable. I was really surprised by this property and would recommend it to anyone. The bar/restaurant on the ground floor was great, with live music and although we never made it to the complimentary breakfast (too early!!), I heard another guest talking about how... More

This hotel is pretty much in the heart of SaoPaulo. Metro and the airport bus stop are in walking distance. Breakfast is OK but nothing exceptional. Front desk speaks very poor english. Internet is a nightmare, they charge 10 US a day and its slow in the rooms (or does not work). Neighbourhood is not the greatest but save for... More

I stayed in the hotel last year and it was very nice. The hotel is in the center of Sao Paulo city. It's a simple hotel, however very clean. The staff are helpful and very friendly. The breakfast is great - I have nothing to complain about it. Fresh juices, fruits and pastries. For sure will be staying there again... More

Very outdated, single beds which my wife hated. TV very old and outdated. A/C worked but no controls to make it stronger. Restaurant was sufficient but expensive. Internet $10 per day. Very central and safe area.

Staying in Republica

Neighborhood Profile
Part of the historical center of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighborhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
