It's a classical old 18-floor building right in the heart of Sao Paulo at the bottom of Augusta, right next to the police station, opposite a beautifully romantic row of expensive restaurants, and within walking distance of the very modern shopping mall (Frei Caneca). As location goes, it's first-rate, other than a hefty taxi fare from the bus station or... More

This hotel used to be plush in the late 70's, early 80's. I had a globetrotting uncle that used to stay there, and I remember going with my Dad to pick him up to have dinner at our home. Almost 40 years later, it remains - I mean, the bathrooms remain the same, the rooms were updated a little, but... More

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel during the FIFA World Cup, very warm staff even though it was a bit difficult communicating with most of them because of the language barrier. The kitchen staff were my favorite, always smiling and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable as well.

I stayed there 1 night , I saw this hotel passing in front, and had a first good impression. But the room is absolutely not in accordance with the entrance. DIRTY ! The door of the bathroom was so dirty ( not cleaned since how many years ?).... And in addition, parking and Wifi are charged Misters from the Braston... More

I rarely write very negative reviews, but other reviews of this one are mixed and so I want to try to help other travelers. This hotel may be OK for leisure travel, but it really doesn't work for business. I understand that there are those who feel it's unfair to put "Western" expectations on this hotel, but I think that's... More

If you expect a fully equipped hotel with all the high standards of the "western world", the Braston might be a deception. If you expect a nice hotel in a country that is rapidly changing to a first-world country, but not yet there, then this hotel is nice. The tv in the room is a flat screen model and working... More

This hotel has a lovely entrance hall - modernist, elegant light fittings and furniture, a grand piano. The luxury stops there. The rooms are small and the single beds are very narrow. The windows don't fit properly in the frames, so it's all very noisy. There was banging in the hotel itself and you can hear noise from other rooms... More

you could see when the elevator stopped there that the 12th floor was entirely gutted and under construction. Perhaps this means the whole hotel was being gradually updated which would be a good thing, the noise during the day was bad. Our room was small, barely could walk around the double bed, and only one plastic chair, I didn't like theplastic... More

Good facade. But that s all. Old room, beds, linen and towels. Could nt feel no clean or cozy. Noisy , dark, old corridors. Left the hotel to find another. It has a pratically abandomned pool ! Try it if you dare.

Staying in Consolacao

Neighborhood Profile
Consolacao
Consolação lies between the old historical center of the city and busy Paulista Avenue. It’s surrounded by the fancy Higienópolis neighborhood, which makes it a very diverse place. The nightlife along Augusta Street offers visitors a variety of options to dine, dance and be entertained. Roosevelt Square, Consolação's main meeting point, is surrounded by fringe theaters and has become a popular skateboarding area. Right across the street from the square is the elevated highway known as “Minhocão.” Though it is busy with car traffic all week, it shuts down every weekend and becomes a leisure spot right in the middle of the city.
