I was not impressed by this hotel. It was adequate and relatively comfortable but the rooms were dated, the shower did not drain and the service at breakfast was unimpressive. There hotel bar is not very welcoming either. While the extra space was nice (all the rooms are suites), and the beds are comfortable, I would have preferred less space... More

What's not to like? L'Hotel Porto Bay in Sao Paulo has a well appointed lobby, choice of coffe, mineral water or champagne upon arrival and check-in, a helpful bell staff and very capable front desk associates. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the bed. Hhhhhmmmmmmmmm, nice to sleep upon and {PLENTY of pillows). Got in late from a meeting and... More

I have been to São Paulo 4 times but the first time staying here. Rooms, service, food were all very good. Very attentive and helpful staff. Only disappointment is when I arrived at 9 am and asked for early check in there was a half room charge even though rooms were available. Good location inca very safe area. Be prepared... More

Well, you get what you pay for and this was exquisite! Service was top notch. Room was perfect and all staff treated us with respect. The restaurant was also fantastic. Spa was quite nice. Arranging an executive taxi to the airport was easy and was only R$160 for a very nice car.

Nice room, but starting to show its age. Bathroom would never pass OSHA safety - the bath tub was super high and I thought I broke my toe getting in. Not sure if any hotel in SP can get away with not serving pao de queijo for breakfast - but the fruit and other breads were fabulous. Very nice to... More

The room and service were fine. The location was acceptable. The breakfast was up to expectations. My problem is that the hotel is both dated and gives off a cold and very formal appearance. I suggest that Jardins is a better locale for a tourist.

This hotel is a nice boutique style hotel right off Ave. Paulista. Close to all the cafés, restaraunts, art museum and shopping. Furniture is a little dated but comfortable. Room is good sized with nice beds. Bathroom is a bit cramped due to bidet and toilet and really room for just one. Step in full tile tank tub is great... More

The hotel is just by Av. Paulista so very central but even so it's quiet and feels like an atmosphere of a small hotel even if the service is as in a big hotel. The staff was very friendly and service minded. Breakfast was fantastic!!

The hotel is very bland and outdated. Expensive but definitely on the cheaper side of other options in Sao Paulo. The hotel staff were very helpful but there was no information in the room on room service or minibar or facilities. Had no idea what was going on. The location of the hotel was very good being close to Paulista... More

Staying in Bela Vista

Neighborhood Profile
Bela Vista
Known for its Italian cantinas, Bela Vista is the place to go for great pasta. Also called “Bixiga”, the area is an important cultural part of the city, with the bohemian and the religious costumes of its inhabitants on full display. In August, the large Nossa Senhora Achiropita party fills the streets with a variety of Italian food and music. You can experience the liveliness of the neighborhood walking through the antiquities fair at Dom Orione Square or visiting the “Brazilian Caminito”, a version of the Argentinian street complete with colorful buildings. Bela Vista is also home to the traditional samba school “Vai-Vai”. Buy a ticket to a rehearsal and get a taste of what Carnival is like.
