Great Location: 5 minutes walk from the Vila Mariana Subway Station and with several bus stops around. Ok-ish Staff: Welcoming and polite. But not super helpful if you need something beyond the basic. That can easily mean trouble, specially if you are a foreign and don't speak English. The cleaner/cooker was opnely rude to us, but I believe she is... More

I stayed three nights at the Telstar Hostel - and I really enjoyed it. The staff members are helpful and polite, the breakfast is decent - and the rooms are pretty ok. Nothing to say about the hostel location aswell, it is just a five minutes walk from the Vila Mariana metro station. The only downside must be the dark... More

I would reccomend this hotel for its warmth x homeliness, it is immaculately clean x the beds are blissfull. We had a delicious cooked breakfast x will definat ly stay here again. It is ideally situated for the centre of town x the mainline railway station.

Telstar is a cool place, especially if you have a little geek in you(: Fabio, The owner is amazingly kind. He let me store my stuff at the hostel for three weeks when I was traveling around Brazil and was super helpful otherwise too! I stayed in Telstar over the holidays and he and his mother and sister even cooked... More

I spent 3 nights in this hostel and have to say it was probably the best one I stayed in during my 4 week trip to Brazil. The dorm I stayed in was really spacious and clean, the staff were friendly/helpful and spoke good English and the manager Fabio was brilliant with all his guests. I cant recommend this hostel... We spent 2 days at Telstar Hostel and had a really great time. There's a real backpacker feel here - very social, some nights there are parties by the pool with good drinks and music. So if you're travelling alone you are sure to make friends here. The staff speak English, breakfast was tasty and the main common rooms are spacious,... More

I really enjoyed my stay there. Staff is there so friendly and helpful. Location was very nice, nearby Metro and 20 min walk distance from park. Pool was nice and small yard next to it. Every one has locker under bed, which was so huge, that all my stuff fitted there. First I was little scared, coz prize was so... More

I had 5 nights here. Great place - so close to the metro makes navigating Sao Paulo very easy. Very friendly staff, bright and welcoming common areas and dorm. Very clean bathrooms and the hostel in general. During my time there were 3 parties there, but not sure if this is normal as it was quiet season for travellers, but... More

Showed up at the door owner gave us a room by our selves for the four of us, and sorted out us getting food from his chief mate who came round the second night we stayed, very cool relaxed place. Breakfast wasn't that great, bread and a toasty with a slice of ham, had worst but had better.

The common area around the entrance is very nice and cozy with big couches and magazines and a bar, a very nice spot to hang out. The room we stayed in was big, but a bit 'without soul' -white bunk beds, white walls, nothing special, but better that than dirty. The ensuite bathroom was surprisingly big, even had a bath...
