Inexpensive option that is close to the action, clean, and safe. The Hotel Moncloa fits the bill with large rooms and a friendly front desk. The English-language skills of the staff is decent, but make sure they understand you would prefer a room “far from the noise of the street.” Rua Augusta becomes a heterosexual party zone on the weekends,... The first impression I had wasn't so great. The hotel is located on the north branch of Rua Augusta, that's not usually considered the best part of it. There a lot of property closed or misused around with fences and doors covered by writings and graffiti. I mean it looks like LA suburbs seen in many american movies. Anyway the... More

I got to begin with the staff, because they're brilliant. All of those I spoke with (or listened to) spoke excellent Spanish, English, and Portuguese (of course) and at least one of them spoke good German too. They where really helpful and for all enquires I had they had great answers, always doing their best to help. The hotel is... More

We stayed 3 nights and had a room in the 8th floor. The room was quite big, but it was a little noisy. We could hear the elevator in the morning. The receptionist was friendly, though he couldn't speak English. Breakfast was good, all in all a recommendation in terms of price and place.

We arrived to São Paulo from Ecuador to attend Madonna's concert... without booking at any hotel so we rented a cab to start looking for some accommodation in a nice hotel and with a reasonable price. We were lucky to find this place and actually the price was great. Wifi service included and breakfast too (before 10 am). Well located,... More

We stayed at this hotel for about 3 days and really liked it. The person doing the check ins was very helpful and tried to provide us with valuable information as far as distance to interesting places. Room: Our room was very clean, bathroom was spotless and there was a safety box to store all the important documents (make sure... More

I chose this hotel because it has a great rating here on TA but I was a little let down by the quality of the hotel. The location is really great. The street is full of life in the nights and in the days it is close to many of the city attractions. Do not worry about safety, if you... More

Staying in Consolacao

Neighborhood Profile
Consolacao
Consolação lies between the old historical center of the city and busy Paulista Avenue. It’s surrounded by the fancy Higienópolis neighborhood, which makes it a very diverse place. The nightlife along Augusta Street offers visitors a variety of options to dine, dance and be entertained. Roosevelt Square, Consolação's main meeting point, is surrounded by fringe theaters and has become a popular skateboarding area. Right across the street from the square is the elevated highway known as “Minhocão.” Though it is busy with car traffic all week, it shuts down every weekend and becomes a leisure spot right in the middle of the city.
