Most brides in Rio go for the big hotels, but I was looking for something different and I'm happy I found it. Beautiful cozy hotel in a green area far from the noise. I even forgot I was in Rio. I had a really nice day together with my mom and bridesmaids, we got our hair and makeup done there... More

Clean and charming little hotel with the most helpful and accommodating staff. Raniere, the Hotel manager is fantastic and speaks fluently many languages. Great breakfast with plenty of natural choices and the views are just breathtaking!! Transportation to and from the hotel is easy and inexpensive. I wouldn't consider any other hotel when going to Rio de Janeiro. 5 STARS!!!!

The hotel was perfect... The views, the high quality, the setting, you name it this place has it.. The breakfast every morning was delicious. Very nice tropical setting with wildlife all around. This hotel is absolutely fabulous. It has six rooms and all have breathtaking views on Christ the redeemer and sugarloaf mountain. The rooms are very clean and look exactly as on the website, so no surprises at all. It is very close (5 minute taxi ride) to Ipanema and Leblon and also Copacabana (10 minutes taxi ride). If you're looking... More

We stayed here four nights in mid July in room 2 (which is on the top floor and has the best view out of all the rooms - except the owners area of course which is another level up). Room was very nice, awesome bed which was SO comfortable and nice bathroom. Looks like it does in the photos which... More

We booked this holiday as a base to explore rio and we weren't disappointed. The location is not central however gavea (a 5 minute taxi ride away, 10 reais) had some great bars and restaurants and a cosmopolitan feel (we would recommend Guiamas). the hotel were always happy to arrange taxis which were relatively inexpensive (christ the redeemer, copacabana beach... We stayed for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. We were happy with our room which was clean and had a lovely balcony with great views. There are no windows and a fair bit of traffic noise so be aware of this if you are a light sleeper. The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were great... More

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The daily homemade breakfast, unmatched views of Rio, charming rooms, and attentive staff make this the place to be. It was easy to relax here and it is a hidden gem. The reason that this hotel is not getting 5 stars from me is that my husband and I booked the Presidential Suite for our... More

We were picked up by the hotel shuttle on the night we arrived from the airport which was pre arranged with the hotel. An small old dilapidated 2 door black Fiat was sent by the manager to collect us. I was hesitant about going in the car and believed we should rather organise a taxi. The 3 bags did not... More

My Girlfriend and I stayed 9 nights at the Gavea Tropical Boutique hotel in November/December. Rio is a huge place and full of cheap taxis so getting to Gavea and the hotel from anywhere in Rio is easy and cheap. The hotel itself is really a magical place, we had Room 2 and it has the best view in the... More
