Did not really know what to expect from this hotel as although we have travelled widely this was the first to South America. The first impression was not good as it took the taxi driver to raise the hotel staff from their discussion to assisting us with the luggage. The room reminded me of a Spanish three star hotel of... We stayed in Windsor Asturias over the New Year's Eve. Service and room were perfectly good. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. There was a beautiful view at night from the roof top terrace. Despite being small the roof top pool offered a good refreshment option. Also caipirinhas at the roof terrace were great. At the reception everyone spoke good... More

We stayed at this hotel for a night on our way back from Paraty and onwards to Buenos and didn't want to go back to Copacabana Palace (which was our favourite hotel in the trip!) The hotel is located in Central Rio, walking distance to Lapa (Rio Scenarium etc.) but quite far from the beaches and the international airport. The... More

Near subway station and domestic airport. (I actually walk from the airport to the hotel) Hotel personals are friendly, ready to help. Super fast elevator. Room is clean daily and well maintained. WIFI in the room is a little bit slower than US standard.

We are a couple currently staying in Windsor Asturias hotel for a few nights while visiting Rio. Our experience so far was has been ok- rooms are not too large, but acceptable. We were able to have an early check-in, which was great after a night of flying. Unfortunately, as I learned today, they do not provide irons in guest... More

The Windsor chain of hotels is well known for its good value for money proposition and the Windsor Asturias certainly delivers on this promise. This 4* property is located in an area called "Cinelandia" at walking distance from the tube. It is highly recommendable to use public transport as taxi fares can be pricy due to the long distances among... More

Pros: Located near a Metro station, close to domestic airport if needed, reasonably sized rooms, efficient staff,a pleasant and effective restaurant,a more than adequate breakfast(except for the rather watery fruit juices), close to international ATMs. Cons: Street noise from the lane over which I over looked was annoying at times when trying to sleep even though I was on the 12 floor.The... Overall good stay, well recommended for cultural and business visitors or if you like to stay at a quiet area very close to Lapa's nightlife. Centro is not a touristy area and if you like the beach and being entertained you probably be better off at a hotel in Copa or Ipanema. But this hotel in Centro has a great... More

I don't have much to compare this to, but it's surely better than the last place I stayed. The pros: super clean room, surprisingly large bathroom, efficient service, breakfast and easy access. Dear Guest, Thanks for your feedback about our service, breakfast and location. Close proximity to business and rich cultural offerings, such as theaters, cinemas and museums. In the evening, visit the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa, with its exciting atmosphere and many bars and restaurants, where the live Brazilian music is played.
