Casa Mango mango gives you a sense of the real Brasil. Character oozes out of the house, the garden and the people. Only five mins walk from the city centre yet the greenery and peacefulness of the garden (with swimming pool, and at least 20 tropical fruit trees) can leave you feeling that you're not in the city. The only... More

Casa Mango Mango is half B&B, half Hostel with a community vibe. This is not a place for travelers who do not interact with other guests at their hotels and it certainly is not a hotel. If you like to spend time sharing info with other people during your travel and are adventurous, this is the place for you. If... More

My stay at Casa MangoMango was fantastic. The accommodation was very comfortable with great food and coffee. The staff/management etc were lovely and very helpful. The city centre is just down the hill (jump on the very cool 'Bonde' which stops out the front of the Casa). You are a little way from the beach but this is no problem... More

We arrived at Casa Mango Mango at 2am more by luck than judgement with first two taxi drivers declining our fare as they had no idea where it was in Santa Teresa. But we did eventually find it hidden away along the cobbled Rua Joaquim Murtinho. The first problem was navigating the three flights of steps leading from the street... More

We here at Casa MangoMango greatly appreciate feedback. We need feedback in order to continue to improve our services so that our guests have the best possible experience in Rio de Janeiro. Feedback helps us continue to grow in new directions as well as to call our attention to problems that we are not aware of.>> While we're... More

My wife and I arrived at the hotel on New Years Eve (using their pickup service from the airport), and were greeted by Sid who showed us our room. The room was clean and beautifully decorated and the tropical gardens (with mango trees aplenty) add to the character of the property. The staff looked after us very well while we... More

Our 6 days as a family in Rio was great fun with the Pousada offering a lovely atmosphere and freindly people. Our 3 grown up children enjoyed their chalet unit and it was good to be able to have the private area for us to share as a family. We (the parents) did not have the greatest room which was... More

We were a team of older scholars researching a naval artist who worked in Rio in the early 19th century. Casa Mango Mango was ideal for us for an extended stay. While we were working we also felt that we were experiencing a bit of Brazilian history and culture, each room furnished with flair, the tropical breakfasts set out in... More

Since discovering this website I find that I now do not book anywhere until I have read all the write ups and those for this place are just spot on. Mangomango was indeed lovely, and having stayed at the big hotels overlooking Copacabana I would definitely stay here again despite its location between two favelas. The Casa is a bit... More

Casa Mango-Mango factored highly into my trip to Rio being one of the best trips I've ever taken - 32 countries so far. Admittedly, I fell in love with the city and I particularly liked Casa Mango Mango's location, charm, and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Julie's (one of the owners) knowledge of the city will help you locate the... More

I don't usually like to give out secrets of places that I visted, but THIS places (Casa Mango Mango) was such a great place. The staff was accommodating, friendly and treated everyone like family. The House itself is beautiful and the room we stayed in was impeccable. They also served breakfast every morning, with fresh fruit and juices. Truly a... More
