The room was ok in front of the Copacapana beach, for an old hotel the rooms were well maintained, cleaned and the bar was very varied. The breakfast was delicious and varied but the dining area is small. Friendly staff.

Further to my stay at Astoria palace in Rio de Janeiro over New Years for which you can appreciate was expensive. First and foremost, for a hotel of this standard I cannot believe that we were told that we could not get room service over this period which is ridiculous for a hotel especially over New Year's Eve and day... The hotel is in a good location overlooking Copacabana beach. However, the staff at reception are amongst the worst I have ever experienced at a hotel. They only seemed interested in helping guests who spoke Portugese. We were given conflicting information about check out times by different members of staff. Check out took forever and at the end of it... More

Stayed for 4 nights Dec 2015. Location great. Staff great. Breakfast great. Reasonable price. Rooms clean and adequate Breakfast great. Only negative was the laundry service.....had 2 'shopping' bags of laundry done, beach clothes, underwear and so on. No prices on the form and didn't think to ask. Price ended up being a bit over $200.00AUD which was a slight... More

**Beware when paying with a "Credit Card"** Decided to book a reservation at this hotel thru Booking.com for a little beach time in the heart of Rio. Upon arrival we were greeted nicely and treated with smiles by the staff. First night there we did not like the fact that we woke up in the morning only to be bitten... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
