Front desk staff are not nice nor rude they just seem indifferent. Some were nicer than others but overall not excited to answer any questions you may have. Our room had a horrendous view ( pic attached) no hot water, no microwave, no coffee maker. The room was clean on the surface but I doubt that it was actually sanitized,... More

Booked hotel using Gate1 travel so I really didn't have many options with regards to the vacation package. Positives: 1) location at Copacabana Beach. 2) hotel next door called Maxims (good eats). 3) friendly staff. Negatives: 1) room was average in size and décor. bathroom was small and lacked space. 2) no free Wifi in room unless you pay 30... More

We had 5 nights at the Astoria.which is located right on the Atlantica Avenue over looking the beach. The room we had was a superior room with beach views, pay the extra and get one of these rooms. The room was on the 11th floor and was a good size and comfortable and the bathroom was also a good size.... More

We selected this hotel because of the location for the World Cup. The hotel is old and the rooms are small. Our window overlooked an alley and we had to keep the window closed because of the odor. We were robbed while at Fanfest on Copacabana beach. I immediately went to the hotel and was very disappointed in their lack... More

Most hotels in Rio de Janeiro are extremelly expensive. Astoria seems to be a good option. RIght next to Copacabana Palace, beach front, very good breakfast, spacious rooms, comfortable bed, nice shower thoug bathroom in need of an upgrade... asap! We did not have time to enjoy the pool or any other facility. TV, minibar, bellboy... missed a balcony. We... More

Pros: - hotel is directly at the Av. Atlancica - Copacabana beach - small but nice pool and great views (especially during sunset) over the Copacabana - Rooms are nice, very neat, reasonable size, beds were comfortable, rooms were very quiete (our room was directed to the inner block, but I am sure that rooms directed to the Copacabana (especially... Not impressed. There is only free WiFi in the lobby. The breakfast in the hotel is good. They have a good amount of hot and cold food to choose from. The pool is small and the water is chilly. The room is small. The room does have a mini refrigerator. Make sure to get a room with a beach view.... More

The hotel is directly located on the Copacabana, which we liked. Another good tourist option may be the next bay, i.e. Ipanema. Rooms facing the ocean obviously have a nice view; no balconies. Employees at reception are reasonably friendly and helped organize a transfer to the Sambadromo. Breakfast buffet offers good choice. No egg dishes, only scrambled eggs from the... More

Sorry to repeat myself but I still can't believe any hotel in the world still has the nerve to charge for Internet access. This one not only charges but once you pay for an entire day you can't stay connected for more than 30 minutes. The hotel itself is actually quite good but I refuse to rank any hotel higher... More

Best thing is the location, we stayed on 7th floor and had a great view of Copacabana beach. Room size was ok, and we actually found the staff helpful. We were given a free upgrade upon arrival as there were three of us and any questions we had for the front desk was answered helpfully and in a friendly manner.... More
