We enjoyed our time (1 week) at Astoria Palace. The staff was very accommodating, and the property is perfectly located right across from Copacabana Beach, and about a 15 minute drive downtown (La Lapa). The rooms are not American style - meaning they are not as large as hotel rooms in America, but are still a good size. The complimentary... More

This hotel has a great location on Copacabana Beach. Overall, the room and other facilities in the hotel were very clean. But beyond that the visit was very average. The staff was not particularly friendly and I felt as though I was imposing on them any time I had a question.

My friend and I stayed in this hotel recently for four days during our quick vacation to Rio. The location on Copacabana Beach was excellent. It is essentially located in the center of Copa Beach. The front desk workers were exceptional and very helpful. They did everything from making recommendations, booking dinner reservations, arranging transportation, to even letting us borrow... More

When we arrived at the hotel, we unfortunately did not get the room with Ocean view which we booked. However, the room was okay. It was clean and tidy. The shower was not that clean as you would like to have it, also inside of the shower there was mould on the wall and in the corner of the ceilings,... More

The hotel room provided there single beds that we were able to push together. Our room was facing the rear so we had a great, ominous shot of Christo along with the tenements that were behind the hotel. The rooftop pool had great, but windy views. The restaurant atop got our order wrong but overall we felt we got what... More

This hotel is situated opposite Cocabana Beach, we were given a free upgrade to a room on he11th floor with a sea view. The room was clean and comfortable, although fairly small. Toiletries and bath robes were supplied, but no tea/coffee making facilities available. However there was a minibar(UK prices!!. Breakfast was American style buffet, lovely fruit pastries cheese and... More

I'll start by saying this hotel is a good one. It's not fancy has what you need a nice bathroom, a safe, and beds. We had two twin beds in our room so a smaller room. The breakfast buffet is good lots of options. My friend and I arrived on Tuesday the 24th and we were not greeted well by... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks during March 2015. The room we were given the first day was rather small and we requested another. This was done to our satisfaction the next day. The room and the rest of the hotel was spotless with a big bathroom and a great power shower. From our window we could... More

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in March 2015, and we booked this hotel entirely on location, which is based reasonably centrally on Copacabana beach. Area seemed safe enough, however we read up safety advice before we travelled. We travelled to the hotel by set fee taxi at R$110, however a metered taxi in non-rush hour comes... More

The situation of this hotel is perfect: you cross Av. Atlantica and are at one the most beatiful beaches of Rio. In seconds you get a chair and a beach umbrella and every time thirst becomes hard to endure you call for a beer or a caipirinha. Now, the hotel: it's ok but only ok. People at the front desk...
