Overall this is a good hostel for a big city like Rio. It's not super spacious but does have an outside area and the location is great, super close to Copacabana, rather safe street (there's a security guard for the hospital next door) and opposite the best supermarket I've seen in South America! The double room we stayed in was... More

Had pre-booked the hostel, 9 bed female dorm. Disgusting and in really bad standard. The female dorm on the ground floor offer no window or ventilation, three rusted old three story high bunkbeds with no more tan 0,5 - 1,5 meters away from each other. It has a strange smell, probably because of mold. The bathroom outside the room is... More

Arrived late on a Saturday night and staff were quite unfriendly. We were shown to our room which had 3 triple bunks with no more than 2 square metres of space to move around. It was terribly lit, smelt very damp/mouldy, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. To top it off the locks to half of... More

the hostel was said to be one of the best party hostels in rio de janeiro. we were here for 4 days and the bar was not opened once, even over the weekend. We went to the boat party on monday, which was recommended to us but it was really bad. 70% of men and it was only half full.... More

We booked 4 bedrooms in the hostel, but we didn't like it because it was bunks of three beds. Too many beds for a small bedroom. It was difficult to arrange your luggage. We changed of hostel, without a problem. They offered us a new bedroom as a part of the solution

Stayed here recently for 4 night's, mattresses are uncomfortable & stained, there is a general smell of damp/mould and the building is generally shabby. The doors of the rooms are damaged as are the bathroom doors with one of them rotted from damp at the edges. The staff were generally ok, some were genuinely nice but others treated us with... More

Where do I start: 1. The cab driver had a tough time getting me from Leme to the hostel (he circled around for close to 15 minutes, lost). 2. The wifi was down when I arrived 3. I checked-in and found out my room didn't have AC (although I booked one with AC). So I went back to the front... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
