Considering that I stayed here during the world cup.. it would be a bit unfair to criticize the high price paid for a basic backpacker hostel... Rio was amazingly expensive at that time, and this was one of the most affordable places in Ipanema. Anyway: the hostel is pretty well located, 3 blocks from Ipanema Beach. The place is nice,... I had the pleasure of staying here during my stay in Rio. First off, I knew I was staying in a nice area until the taxi driver dropped me off and I spot a Rolex and Louis Vuitton boutique across the way (not that I'm into that). But yeah, you're pretty much in the Beverly Hills of Rio. It's a... More

This hostel has a great location right around Ipanema Beach. But the rooms are more than basic, and the bathrooms are actually very dirty. So bring your "Adiletten" if you wanna walk into the shower. Also, this place is definitely directed towards very young people, It's very loud at night and people keep walking in and out of the rooms... More

Ipanema is very much the upper class part of Rio, you will feel very safe in this area. Hostel staff were friendly and the place has great facilities in respect to kitchen, pool area and space to lounge about. Recommend using the toilets and showers towards the back of the building, bathrooms in the main building are overused. The hostel... More

Certainly not as bad as previous reviews have stated. At no point did any room I stay in smell of urine and trust me, I went looking for it. The major flaw in my stay was the subhuman scum that stayed in the hostel over the same 6 nights I did. 3 Australians, head to toe in yellow onesies making... More

We booked this hostel in January fearing World Cup fever would hit Rio. When we arrived, check in was simple and straightforward. The room was ok (expensive for the standard), though the mattresses were thin and the room smelt a little from the bathroom next door. The breakfast was good and the pool was an added bonus. Most of the... More

The hostel is very good located, the private room we had was very basic, the swimming pool is ok and the kitchen is ok as well and the staff was helpful. It's an ok hostel, but not very good. In case you want to save money then you have to stay in another area then Ipanema...

Don't stay here - the location is good but that's about it. We stayed in a tiny, tiny double room with a terrible old bed and a bathroom that stank of urine despite cleaning. This place is ridiculously expensive for what you get. The breakfast is inadequate, the staff at the front desk pretty unfriendly and certainly unhelpful and the... More

We arrived in the Hostel few days ago. We booked a room for 3 persons and we found a very small room with two beds and a mattress thrown on the floor. The accommodation was inadequate. Furthermore I regret to highlight that the structure is inadequate : no sufficient power points, some devices are too old and the mosquitos rule.... More

Walked into this hostel without making prior reservation during Easter weekend is my mistake. The location is superb and you don't have many option around Ipanema area. They knew it and they charge a premium for that. The same rate allow me to stay in a single room in centro area, but over here, I got a bed in 9... More
