The hotel is situated in a backstreet. That means taxis and tour companies have a hard time finding it. The staff in the reception have a hard time speaking English and has caused some minor problems for me. The blankets in the room are just thin sheets (probably very good in summer), but in wintertime I had to use two... More

We spent 3 nights in this quiet hotel in Copacabana: standard rooms still comfortable, really polite and helpful staff, nice breakfast made our stay a good experience. Location is about 10-15 min walk from the beach and you can find a metro station 5 min away. In general, if you want to visit the city instead of laying at the... More

Simple place to stay. The beds are old and no so soft, but it is clean. The price is good, nice location on a quiet region of Copacabana. Breakfast is ok too. It feels like a hotel from the seventies.

We had a 3 night stay in May as part of a Chimu Adventures tour and found this hotel to be exactly the type we wanted. It is a small friendly, good hotel located in a quiet, safe neighborhood behind all the high rise towers in Copacabana and it was an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and the metro.... More

The best feature of this hotel is its central location. It is located within a short walk to Copacabana in a quiet, quaint neighborhood. A taxi stand and metro stop are close by, as are a police precinct and a hospital should you need them. There are also convenience stores and one or two restaurants serving local dishes in the... The hotel is 5 blocks from Copacabana, 10 mins walk to metro or taxi stand, and close to the Main Street with shops, restaurants, etc. it's also very quiet around the hotel so is good for getting away from the hustle when you are tired. It's basically an old apartment block converted into a hotel. Charming is perhaps too generous... More

It has an excellent location in a very calm and peaceful neighborhood, in a walking distance from Copacabana beach and the metro/underground station. Shops and street markets also very close. The staff is really friendly and the reception desk/ hotel lobby is interesting. The rooms/beds are comfortable. Cons: too expensive for what you get and the breakfast is not really... More

Stayed here during the World Cup, so I do understand they wouldn't normally charge USD300 per room. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't pay more than USD 30 a night for a place like this. The good: reasonably convenient (15 min walk to subway, 20 min walk to Copacabana), friendly, English-speaking staff. The bad: neighborhood isn't great at night--not much lighting... More

This hotel was an excellent find during the World Cup. Prices were reasonable, breakfast was excellent and the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful when booking tours or taxis. The subway station is a five minute walk away which made getting downtown easy. The beach was a ten-fifteen minute walk. Rooms were furnished simply and you call for... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
