I stayed at the Windsor Barra for a conference, and I had a wonderful time there. Unlike many other parts of Rio, it's pretty safe in Barra. It's a bit out of town, but there's a free bus going to the Barra Shopping and back, so there's absoluteliy no probel to go shopping. The staff was very nice, smiling all... more

My wife and I stayed at the Windsor Barra for 3-days. The hotel is very nice but very few employees speak english. The girl at the front desk that could speak english, her name was Gaberlia, (not sure of correst spelling) was not nice and at time very rude. I would not stay at this hotel again. tom more

It was a wise decision since it was a nice hotel to stay in especially when you travel with elder people, which was the case. I stay at Windsor Barra last September for a Conference. We were a group of 6 people from Portugal. The hotel is very good decorated, excellent location for a great beach. The double rooms are very good but all to the left or right side of the hotel. Very clean and all the staff (including cleaning staff) was very helpful... more

This is essentially a modern business conference hotel and for that, it works well. For a family, there are better beaches in Rio although there is nothing wrong with that stretch, but there are few activities for kids etc. Its safe and secure. In agreement with other reviewers - the only reason we were booked at this hotel was a conference. Since this property is used often for business, the hotel should adopt a more enlightened internet policy. $50US for a 24 hour wireless connection is absurd, after paying hundreds per night for a room.
