What a pleasant surprise this hotel turned out to be! Marble and granite floors/walls, and the furniture in the rooms is very Scandinavian. The food selection at breakfast was good, and the staff are very responsive. The front desk staff is very helpful and you can exchange dollars for Reals there, although not as good a rate as at the... more

Location, location, location--for a great price! This hotel is half a block from Copacabana Beach which is fantastic considering the price you pay for this excellent hotel. You also get to use the beach services of the fancier Windsor since it's near by. That means free umbrellas and Marcos who gets you drinks and watches your stuff. The staff are... more

Overall this was a great value hotel in a fantastic location - just 1/2 block from Copa around Post 6. The staff was awesome and we always felt safe. I noted that every time we stepped into a taxi, they would introduce the driver to us by name and then write down the taxi number and our destination into a... more

My wife and I traveled to Rio the week before Carnaval. Being that Rio was just one stop on our trip, we did not want to spluge on a hotel (especially since we did not plan to spend much time in our hotel room). We picked this hotel because it was recommended to us by our travel agent and because... more

I stayed in this small but nice hotel 4 nights in January 2009. The hotel staff were helpful and spoke good english. Room was clean and bathroom lately renewed and fresh. The location of the hotel is good, just 100 m from Copacabana beach. Great value for money! -Tomi- more

This hotel has a very good location, a block from the beach and half a block from a comercial street. It is next to a money exchange place and many stores and restaurants. The room is quite small, not exactly spotless, there are dust and bugs on the floor (don't mind the bugs, cos it's everywhere in Brasil). There is... more

We stayed here for 17 days for carnival. Rooms are on the small size but of good quality and well equipped. Bonus is they all have a good sized fridge with ice box. Good air conditioning. Bed was very comfortable with good standard of bedding and towels. Management are very professional and minor problems were fixed very quickly. Location is... more

I looked at all the reviews for this one and was a little skeptical, but I found this hotel to get a decent place to stay. I would have given it more than an average if the room was just a little bit bigger. The room was only slightly larger than the queen bed. The room made me feel like... more

We were there for 6 nights, at beginning of january 09 . The hotel is very good situated (2 min walk from copacabana and 10 min from Ipanema) Perfect located for sightseeing, as very close to the public transportation; (the bus stop, for all destinations 1 min. by walk and metro 8 min.) There is a small lobby and a... more
