We had a seven week tour of South America in August and September 2008 and stayed at a number of hotels and hostals and this one was one of the best. We stayed here 3 nights and it was great, the hotel is in a good location close to Copacabana Beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the... more
Nice place near the beach. Good breakfast and free WiFi, although it didn't work in the room, just the roof. more
We spent six nights here and found it excellent. Well located for all the sights, quiet room with the most powerful shower, first class breakfast buffet, helpful staff. The area is fine and we used public transport to get everywhere day and night (Sugar Loaf, Christ The Redeemer, Lapa, Maracana etc) and felt safe. Well recomended more
My husband and I actually stayed at this hotel twice during a recent trip to Brazil. We booked the room using Expedia and got a wonderful rate (less than USD100 a night) for a standard room, which they unexpectedly upgraded to a superior room when we checked in. The staff was constantly kind and gracious like that throughout our stay,... more
I loved the location of the hotel being only half a block off Copacabana beach but I can't believe it was rated #2 in Rio. All the other reviews are dead on in as far as: the rooftop pool is little more than a bathtub the bellman tried to rip me off catching a cab back to GIG airport it... more
Good value hotel for Rio. Very good location for beach and tube. We were given a room without a window which I did not like, however the hotel was full. The staff did try to make us comfortable but I would not stay in that type of room again. Breakfast was very good. Its not really a rooftop pool but... more
We made the reservation through www.yeego.com and got the best price for the hotel. We ask for a Supirior room and get room number 703 which had the best view at this hotel. The rooms are small, but have all you need. Great breakfast, close to everywhere, Internet free conection at the rooms etc. more
We stayed at the Martinique Copa for 6 nights in May 2008 after reading rave reviews on this website. For the price we paid, $120/night including breakfast, the value is outstanding, and we would recommend the hotel to others. The hotel is less than one block from Copacabana Beach and within walking distance of Ipanema. Pros: great price, wonderful breakfast... more
I stayed in the Martinique Copa for a long weekend and it was everything I wanted. Wonderful location almost right on Copacabana beach, a few minutes walk from a metro station and on the route of the bus from the airport, so convenient to get around. The room was comparatively small, but I understand most hotel rooms in Rio are... more
