I stayed at the Royal Rio during the World Cup. The hotel was very busy but check-in still went very smoothly and most of the front desk people spoke English which I found out was kind of rare. The room itself had nice size but it did have a bit of that musty smell. They definitely put some money into... More

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. My overall feeling is that the hotel is good, in a great location but I have stayed in better hotels. The value was N/A during this time as FIFA control the rooms fees which was not ideal. The breakfast was very good. There is a wide... More

Rio Royal Palace has a great location because is two blocks from Copacabana un Rio de Janeiro. Is a good hotel with a small lobby area, it also has a restaurant and a bar that closes too early During my stay I had issues with the Internet connection in the room because of maintenance. Breakfast is very good and rooms... More

...it was really a decent, clean, and comfortable hotel. They let us take the pool towels to the beach every day without incident. The rooms were decent - not great, but at least they matched what we saw in the pictures. The bathroom was well-appointed and the shower had nice, hot water with excellent pressure. I was there for 4... More

Watch out if you book through bookings.com as what they promote or the room you pay for in promotion is not what you get!!! During the World Cup they made me wait 1 hour before checking me in and caused me grief over the room they wanted to give me. They wanted to send my sis and I at 11pm... More

Just finished a 7-night stay during the World Cup. I picked the hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews. I was looking for a middle-priced hotel, good location with a pool, bar and Wi-Fi. Because of the World Cup, all prices in the city were out of control, but this hotel fell right in the middle of pricing with good, solid... More

Stayed here for two night during the World Cup and have no complaints. It is up to American standards. Great location just a few blocks away from the beach. Felt safe on the streets at night. Breakfast was decent. Great Juice Bar/Sandwich shop across the streets if you need a cheap meal or small snack. Nightlife in the area was... More

Stayed 5 nights, I found it difficult to get good sleep due to extremely high noise from the roads. The bathroom is tiny, and rooms very basic. Not worth the money they market it at. Staff pleasant but very slow. Breakfast is nice if you like fruits, rest of the selection was poor.

I stayed here during the FIFA world cup so prices were most likely higher than normal and I found it to be expensive for what was offered. The best point about this hotel is its position three blocks from Copacabana beach. Rio's oldest steakhouse and the Copacabana Palace Hotel are an easy 3 minute walk away. This was my first... More

Reserved online a double room... we got 1 very small bed, not enough space for 2. Room itself is very small. Price is very expensive compared to other hotels in the same area. Also the access card doesn't work majority of the times so we had to go down to the reception every time. The reservation indicated its a smoking... More
