We stayed at the Royal Rio Palace during carnival this year. Excellent location, just 2 minutes walk from Copacobana beach. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast and room service were good. The roof top pool is quite small and there are only a few sun loungers and they could fit a few more up there.

This hotel is located only 200m away from Copacabana. Perfect place to stay during a Rio holiday. But: The management is reluctant to think about required changes: the breakfast room is totally stuck in the morning; sometimes you need to wait 15 minutes to get a table. It's incredibly loud and the staff works like hell to get the crowd... More

I stayed at this property here for 7 nights during Carnival. What I love most about this hotel was its location. It was about 2 blocks from Copacabana Beach, shopping areas, and metro station. You are located between 2 very busy Rua's so food isn't a problem. Hotel does offer breakfast which was very good, and Room service also. The... More

We stayed at this hotel for a week during Carnival. It is just a few hundred yards away from Copacabana Beach and very close to a Metro station so it's easy to get into town. Taxis aren't very expensive either if you don't want to use public transport. The hotel rooms are standard layout with a comfortable bed and decent... More

We stayed for 4days and enjoyed our stay very much.it was 250meters from the copacabana beach so we did not spend money on transport.the breakfast was yummy and had a vast spread of food and fruits.it had numerous shops and stores surrounding it-street food was easily accessable.our standard room was small but neat and clean with a locker

We went to Rio for Carnival, probably the busiest time of year there. (Carnival = fantastic fun & Joy) the hotel must have been full, because we never could get internet on the 11th floor and had trouble with hot water once or twice. It was a very basic hotel. Underwhelming with no charm. We found the hotel almost OK.... More

Stayed here for 1 night before joining a cruise ship. Hotel is convenient for Copa Cabana beach... just one block back from the beach. Upper floors have a view of the sea. The roof top pool is small but a nice outside space for sunbathing. Room was comfortable with a nice walk in shower in the bathroom. Breakfast had a... More

We were on a package deal (flights + 2 city centres) booked form the UK and were SO lucky to get this hotel. It's not a chi-chi modern boutique hotel, it's a large, busy city hotel. Our room was large with plenty of storage space and a bathroom with bath/shower and bidet! It's a bit old fashioned as others have... More
