I'll write a very detailed review in order to help those that are wondering if they should stay here or not. I will list them as some pros and cons. Pros *The hotel is right by Copocabana beach. Literally two block walk and your at the beach which is very convenient. *Breakfast is free. For a free complimentary breakfast, it... More

Not really a 4 star hotel, more like a 3 star tourist superior.. Best attributes: good location, two blocks from Copacabana beach, bedrooms are clean, near nice restaurants. The bathroom is big but outdated, probably in the same league as most hotels in Rio except for the very expensive ones. The whole city seems to be stuck in time in... More

5 of us stayed here after our 3 week tour around Brazil. It was the perfect location and a nice uplift to some of the more basic places we had stayed. The location is a 5 minute walk to Copacabanna beach, and a 3 minute walk to the local Metro station. The entrance, restaurant and roof top pool are very... More

There are a lot of nicer hotels in Copacabana and Ipanema. If you are a person that requires all the creature comforts then this hotel isn't for you. But, if you plan on being out and around Rio and your hotel is used to unwind at the end of the day and sleep, then this is a great place. It... More

The location is very good, only 2 blocks away from the capacabana beach! The staff was helpful and the breakfast is very good. However they overcharge you for the trips that you book in the reception place. A football game which is worth 50 reals on the ticket, was charged 200 reals. the room is clean, but hasn't reached a... More

The hotel is located in a very good place near the beach, just 3 blocks away. Everything was great including the breakfast and the room. A couple blocks away there is a metro station and many bus stations. The only thing is that the wifi was terrible. It didn't work on my rooms floor and in the lobby was very... More

We stayed here for two weeks as a family as it was one of the few hotels that accommodated our 2 small children. By North American Standards I would say it is a strong 3.5 stars. The staff is very helpful particularly Junior at the front desk. Breakfast is actually quite good and offers a large selection of hot and... More

The ROYAL RIO PALACE HOTEL seems to be a nice place to stay, but over the years this place has gotten bad evaluations from me and all my friends. The receptionists are not friendly, they don´t ask the guests preferences, They drive the guests to expensive services ( tours and taxis ), the bedrooms are roomy, but some bathrooms has... More
