Rio is known for its lack of decent hotels... However, staying here during the World Cup was fine. The Fan Fest and the beach were blocks away, as was the metro. Rooftop pool is very cool. Rooms are very spartan... the leaflet explaining all the STD's you could get in Brasil is decidedly a low end touch, I expected to... More

We stayed 4 night in a triple room. Basics of an international hotel are there, with limitations... Room and bathroom OK Very large breakfast buffet Conveniently close to metro station and beach. BUT: 1 day no cleaning of the room. We had to call twice 7 and 8 pm! The next day reception did not care at all of it.... More

hotel is good , rooms are spacious, laundry is dangerous , they burnt a silk scarf, breakfast is ok but served twice,??, hotel good for tourists, bring your own body guard to stop to be harassed, a specialty of the characters around the hotel is discretely throw goo on your shoes and clean them at a cost, of course, dont... We spent is this hotel 3 nights in July. The hotel is very close to Copacabana beach (3 blocks from the beach). We had a big room for us and our daughter, very nice compared to other 4 star hotels in other cities in Brazil. Bathroom ok also. Breakfast: very good and diversified, but the restaurant seats seems to us... More

I stayed in this hotel during the World Cup. Had the chance to stay in two different rooms. Be aware that there are reasonable rooms (updated in the last 10years) and other that may have not been refurnished for decades and that are in very bad conditions. Service at the from desk is nothing but rude. Though great attitude from... More

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Service was very good and location was great. Rooms were very scarce during this time and we were pleased with the rooms and location. Staff was great even though they were extremely busy. Nice breakfast too!

Booked this hotel during the 2014 World Cup when options were scarce. Ended up stressing a bit before arrival that the immediate location would be questionable, but was very pleasantly surprised. Probably 3 blocks from beach, but no issues at all with the location. Fantastic Quick Galeta place a block away. Room was great. Roof top pool was a little... More

I stayed at the Royal Rio during the World Cup. The hotel was very busy but check-in still went very smoothly and most of the front desk people spoke English which I found out was kind of rare. The room itself had nice size but it did have a bit of that musty smell. They definitely put some money into... More

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. My overall feeling is that the hotel is good, in a great location but I have stayed in better hotels. The value was N/A during this time as FIFA control the rooms fees which was not ideal. The breakfast was very good. There is a wide... More

Rio Royal Palace has a great location because is two blocks from Copacabana un Rio de Janeiro. Is a good hotel with a small lobby area, it also has a restaurant and a bar that closes too early During my stay I had issues with the Internet connection in the room because of maintenance. Breakfast is very good and rooms... More
