DO NOT GO THERE !!!! I would like to avoid tourist / business men / other peopleto absolutly avoid this hotel. For the same price, or less expensiv you can easyly find good hotels by the internet. I have been there because other hotels I use to go were full. I stayied 4 night. The first night, my room was... more

After having one hotel lose our reservation (see Ibiza Copacabana) we walked down the block to this one. It was a great deal nicer than the one we originally booked, but appeared to be a lot more expensive. When we asked about the price they were open to negotiation (it was off season) and it ended up not being as... more

Royal Rio is a good jumping off spot for exploring the city. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. The rooftop pool is stunning and affords gorgeous views of the city and Copacabana Beach-- a nice urban oasis. This hotel is a great value. It's not luxurious, but it is comfortable and has all of the amenities you need. The... more

We stayed at this hotel in Feb 08. The rooms wereroomy enough and clean, bathrooms were clean if not a bit crammed. Hotel lobby was reasonable and the staff were very helpful. All the people on reception were helpful and friendly except the oldish grey-haired guy who ripped us off on calling taxis for us; we didnt trust him. The... more

The Royal Rio Palace is great value for your money. The rooms are so nice, clean, and modern. Copacabana beach (better than Ipanema,) is only two blocks away. The neighborhood is very safe, and there is even the most gorgeous rooftop overlooking the beach, complete with a pool. I would most DEFINITELY stay here again. Make sure you get a... more

We stayed at this hotel for only one night but we were really pleased with the infrastructure (it looks brand new), with the location (eventhough it is not right on the beach, it is close to it) and the service. I highly recommend this hotel, it is a excellent quality/price ratio (we paid only 190 reales+local tax). more

We stayed here for 4 nights in mid-December, 2006 and were delighted with this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful; the room was large and quiet; the bathroom had a huge glassed-in shower; and the breakfast was excellent and served in a beautiful dining room. (Our one dinner at the hotel was mediocre.) The desk staff arranged tours for... more

We stayed 5 nights at the Royal Rio Palace and we thought it was an excellent hotel in a safe location (for Rio) with excellent friendly staff and good food. The hotel is two blocks back from Copacabana Beach and within walking distance of the Metro (which is cheap, safe and easy to use) and of the marvellous Rio Sul... more

It’s not incredibly fancy, it’s not overlooking the Copacabana and it isn’t that flashy. But what it is, is a good modern hotel. Our room was a very good size with sauna and Jacuzzi bath. It was also very clean and comfortable, and we arrived to a bottle of bubbly and a large basket of fruit because we were on... more

I recently stayed at the Royal Rio Palace Hotel. It is located in Copacabana, just two blocks from the beach and is in an excellent location. The rooms are spacious, offer all amenities, some with jacuzzi in the bath. Beds are comfortable, good TV with English channels, a mini bar and fridge and air conditioning. The rooms are immaculant. There is... more
