Safe great location very helpful and pleasant staff excellent breakfast wonderful rooms. The hotel was recommended by the GM at the Splenido in Porofino as regular guests there he had gone to the trouble to telephone and arrange Suite upgrade. Really ticks all the boxes.

Fantastic location, a block away from Copacabana and about a 20-minute walk to Ipanema and Leblon. Felt safe walking around the neighborhood around 10P.M. Lots of traffic, both human and vehicular. Plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and retail shops. Was here with a girl friend during the World Cup and loved every minute of it. It's a pity we didn't... More

Hi..This hotel was ok. Basic and bit noisy but what I expected. What I didn't expect was this: I had asked the front desk to book me a taxi to the airport that took credit card. After getting into the taxi - with the driver having no English, and me having no Portugese - the driver took me way out... More

My husband stayed here with a group of friends for 4 days. Prior to arriving at this hotel we had stayed at a 3 star hotel for a week which may not have been as nice in terms of luxury but far exceeded it in terms of service. The Copacabana Palace is a beautiful hotel. Great location, stunning rooms, ornate... More

We stayed at this hotel during the World Cup because we didn’t have options in terms of meeting our location and occupancy needs. The location of the hotel is great. Its literally one street behind Copacabana beach. We felt safe in the neighbourhood and walking in either direction lead to shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is dated but thankfully... More

Very good central location. The staff were very unfriendly and not helpful at all. It seemed like to much effort to even answer a question. Rooms were clean and tidy. Very overpriced. Wi-fi did not work in rooms.

I was there on a business trip during world cup. The rooms were really small, aircondition was louder than plane engine, and it was simply not cooling at all. After opening windows and turning it off the stay in the room was bareable. The breakfast was very good, and service ok. The location is also good.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of recent World Cup. One block back from Copacabana Beach (south end) so very close and 10-15 mins walk to Ipanema so cannot fault location. Rooms are pretty basic & don't look like they have been refurbished for over 20 years - however the room was clean. Reception staff spoke English & were... More

The location and staff were the positives at this property. The rooms were adequate and if the price wasn't inflated because of the world cup it would be fine. Breakfast was good. Having wifi only in the lobby was frustrating. It worked intermittently in the room.

I stayed at this hotel and would rate it as very average. The location is excellent and the staff were friendly. The rooms are very depressing. They are very dark and dated. We had a room that was not on the street so it was very quiet and good for sleeping. The rates were excessive but I blame a lot... More
