I'm a single guy, or was when I stayed at the Acapulco Copacabana Hotel. Since I didn't try to bring a "guest" to my room, I judged the hotel by other criteria: }} My room was large, well furnished, with a modern bathroom and a balcony. (Four rooms on each floor, at either end of the corridor, have balconies.) }}... more

The policy of not allowing visitors in the room ruined my staying for New Years. I was not able to have my girlfriend over in my room, and I am not talking about a girl from some bar. She was a Brazilian turist. One of the front desk clerk even suggested that I should just take her to some cheap... more

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Acapulco Copacabana Hotel on Copacabana beach, what a fantastic hotel. We booked a double & a triple room, both rooms were very spacious and clean, with en-suite. There was also a safe and air-con in each room. The power shower was excellent for massaging those end of days aches away. The... more

We stayed at this hotel from Dec 26 to Jan 5. It was a very pleasant experience. Staff is very friendly, although I would expect more of the people on the reception. The room was VERY clean, a lot of tv channels, very fast&free internet access (if you bring your computer). We loved the people staying there, mostly brasilians from... more

This is a good hotel in a excellent location with friendly staff. Breakfast is simply excellent - an experience! The hotel is clean, rooms are big and sparingly but sufficiently decorated. Safes (which we used and had no problems), TV's, large bathrooms etc Free internet is provided, they also exchange foreign currency and are very efficient in running the operations... more

We stayed here for nine days over the Carnival 06. Great modern hotel in a good area, Leme, not Copacabana, as our taxi drivers pointed out. One block from the beach & with plenty of tourist police, ATMs & a supermarket within strolling distance. The front desk staff spoke great English, but we still tried our Portuguese on the poor... more

I have stayed at this hotel at least 50 times over the past 10 years, and they acknowledge that I am their most frequent and longest term customer. So much for customer loyalty - I will not stay here again. They have a new house rule which prohibits hotel guests from bringing visitors to their rooms, and denied my request... more

The hotel lobby is updated and modern, but the room I stayed in is a little dated. I think I stayed at the time where the hotel is going through renovation and there is knocking throughout the day...so you really can't sleep in. It's NOISY. Fabulous breakfast and location (just a block away to the beach, near to the Meridian... more
