The employees are courteous, polite and helpful. The atmosphere is bohemian and fun. The Hostel location is perfect to experience the best of Rio (plus copacabana beach, pubs, branches, restaurants, etc) Value for money is very affordable.Much better than the other Hostels and Hotel nearby. For that amount of money, is worth it! You may find a dirty bathroom. But... More

Booked a <6 dorm and got a 12 person dorm. Even this dorm was overbooked and one of us had to move to another dorm at 4 a.m. Paid 80 Euro (110 USD) p.p. per night. Wi-Fi and breakfast was poor. Never again!

I stayed here for 2 nights in the week leading up to the World Cup. As you can imagine, people were flooding in from all over the world, so the entire hostel was booked. The lobby is open and inviting, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there are 3 computers available to use. Wifi was decent despite the amount... More

Booked it for Carnivale (so this review is a little late), but it was one of the cheaper options....for a reason! You get what you pay for. Room was tiny and cramped. There was a leak from the roof, so a big bucket in the middle of the floor. Half the lockers were bent out of shape, so they didn't... More

Stayed here for 13 nights just before the World Cup started. Decent place, breakfast is good but not a lot of room to eat it in. The kitchen is very small and needs some money spending on it. My room was decent quite a lot of room and with a big opening window. Lockers under bed and outside room are... More

Our worst hostel experience thus far. Our booking was screwed up and then the staff tried to blame it on us. After proving that the error and fault was at their end, we were forced to wait hours for our room even though it was already 7pm. The facilities are small, cramped and dirty. I managed to bump my head... More

When we arrived in late afternoon well after the check out time for previous guests (11 am) the room was full of people who had apparently checked out of the room that morning, who were lying on the beds we were supposed to be sleeping on. Their stuff was still all over the place, and it was obvious that the... More

We stayed at this hostel for 5 nights. Our overall impression was good although when staying in chain hostels you lose the personal feel. Our 6 bed dorm was underground, the beds were quite comfortable although your nose virtually touches the ceiling if sleeping on the top bunk. It makes it a challenge getting in and out and it's not... More

I travelled to Rio in October 2013. This hostel is one of the best that I have ever stayed at. It is located a few blocks from Copacabana Beach. One of the best features of this hostel is its patio/balcony facing Rua Barata Ribeiro . It is a great hangout spot which gives one the opportunity to observe the busy... More

no water supply in the rooms in my first 2 days. one day the pipe broke and all are room was floted, including out bags, in would expect at least free laundry service for the clothes that got wet, but we didn't get even an apology. the wifi never works, the staff knows and don't care. you need to wait...
