Arriving late at night, you walk down a lane way past homeless people sleeping on the pavement. When you get to the Hotel, the staff couldn't be bothered to acknowledge you. Once in your room, you realise the homeless moved out so the hotel can rip off World Cup visitors with dirty filly smelly rooms. Had to roll up my... More

Stayed here for the world cup, as this was one of the affordable left over hotels in town. Hotel is old and not renovated. Windows have an opening at the top which leaves the noise in from neighbourhood. Yes the breakfast is better than the room, but is it good? Don't think so. A lot of homeless sleep in the... More

We stayed here during world cup. Location is great as in centre of Rio so can get to brilliant nightlife area whilst having easy access to metro for beaches. The staff are so helpful. I can't praise them enough. They spoke a little English and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of fresh fruit

Good quality hotel with easy access to Metro. Staff are fantastic. Spacious room with very good air-con. Great breakfast with lost of variety to get the day started well. Very good WiFi. Can be a little noisy outside on a Friday night but this is Rio! Restaurants close by with lots of variety of food and walking distance to Lapa... More

I stayed here for five days - would have left early if not for the prepaid reservation over the World Cup period (red flag: they also make you sign a statement about not checking out early when you check in). Of all the various staff we encountered during our stay, about 10% could be bothered to acknowledge guests, maybe 5%... More

o hotel está localizado proximo a embaixada dos Estados Unidos no Rio de Janeiro. Regiao muito barulhenta o dia e a noite todo. Hotel muito simples, de pouca higiene. Bom café da manha. muito caro para este tipo de hotel. the hotel is near the U.S. embassy located in Rio de Janeiro. Region very noisy day and all night. Very... More

We were looking for a near-to-downtown hotel and that is what we found. If you need to be in downtown this is a very good option. It is right next to the Cinelandia Metro Station. What I liked the most was that the breakfast service was outstanding. The thing that I did not like at all was the surrounding street... More

Stayed at Itajuba for a week after moving from a very dodgy Hotel which was almost the same price wise but in rough neighborhod. 24 Hour door men and step out right into the heart of the city's Centro District in Rio De Jeneiro's Downtown. Walking distance to Many Consulates and only two minute walk to American Embassy. Loads of... More

Stayed here from June 25 - June 28, 2013. I rate it 3 1/2 stars. The location was perfect for me. Less than a 1/2 block walk to the Cinelandia metro stop. Also from the airport, I took the bus that went from gig to Santo dumont airport, the domestic airport. This bus stops at the main bus terminal, then... More

Stayed here from 15-23 June 2013 for the Rio+20 conference. This hotel was excellent! Right behind Cinelandia station, and surrounded by little shops where you can buy empanadas and frozen acai with granola! It's also walking distance from Lapa, where the higher-end dining establishments and lively street parties are. The rooms are old but restful, and very clean. Their breakfast... More
