We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Rio hostel. We had a double room with private bathroom. The room was nice and clean. The Hostel has a nice view on the city center of Rio and is very well located in Santa Teresa. Morevover, the staff was kind and very helpfull.

This hostel was nice with great views of the city. It's located walking distance to Lapa night life, the Escadaria Selarón (famous steps) and to the metro. The hostel is much bigger than its sister hostel in Ipanema, just not as close to the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for three nights after spending another 4 nights in Ipanema. The neighbourhood is very different to ipanema. We really enjoyed staying in the Master Suite, which is very spacious and has a great view. The hostel itself is quite standard, although the swimmingpool area is very good. Breakfast is standard. I think staying in a nice room... More

I found the Hostel cute and pleasing. The people that work there are very warm and nice! The room was clean and the view is beautiful! I think its a good place to stay if you want to get to know Santa Teresa well.

My boyfriend and I found the Rio Hostel online and decided to book based on the reviews, it was our last stop before returning to Dublin and we couldn't have been happier with the choice we made. From the moment we arrived we were made feel so welcome. The staff went out of their way to help and were so... More

Excellent hostel, only we had to climb 120 steps to our room, which made us to have an incredible view. The facilities are very old and very well preserved which makes a pleasant atmosphere. Lappa is close to a site with a good nightlife.

We stayed three nights in the private room (with bathroom) in December. It's a great old heritage house with lots of great finishing (stained glass, high ceilings, etc.) and seems to have been renovated in some areas. We didn't mind our stay, as nothing went wrong (other than the power going out for a few hours during a spectacular lightening... More

Poor poor you! You silly 'guy with a female atitude' behind the desk, why are you working at a hostel? Never be root to the clients when you make mistakes and can't turn it back. That is the whole problem with this hostel. A girl who is in training tries her best to give advice, but Google your question and... More

We enjoyed our 4 nights at Rio Hostel a lot. What really drew us in was the partly-roofed but still outdoor bar on the top of the building (it was raining a bit). The barkeeper Pimenta was awesome and does a wicked (if not super-cheap) twist on Caipirinhas. The breakfast is above-average but nothing to brag about, the sandwich-toaster is... More
