This is the most downmarket, dowdy, disappointing hotel imaginable. Rooms are from the 1940's, furniture looks like it has come from charity shops or junk yards and the showers have roof plastic for walls. Breakfast is on the top floor and is just a collection of food on a table.

I picked this hotel because of the proximity to the beach and it was cheap. I stayed in hostels before - this was worse than a hostel. Bed and towels were clean, but the room and the amenities were discussing and creepy. AC didn't work, I couldn't sleep it was so hot. The ceiling had spots above the bed as... More

Stayed here as it was one of the accommodations with a tour I did. I was staying another night in this hotel after the tour ended so had booked this on the internet a week before. When I arrived, I was checked into the room and told that I could stay in the same room for the extra night that... More

This hotel is literally a stones throw away from Copacabana beach and you can see the beach whilst having breakfast. However, the rooms look very dated like they're form the 1960's and poorly maintained. The wifi (free) was down for a whole day but on again the next. The staff at the front desk spoke fairly good English and were... More

This hotel is well located about a five minute walk from Copacabana Beach with plenty of shopping and cafes nearby. The hotel is not very well cared for, but being able to get up in the morning and open your window to overlook the beach makes it totally worthwhile. The breakfast room has the best view in the hotel, so... More

This hotel is pretty out dated. The rooms are old, the elevators only work on the lower 12 floors - you have the walk the extra 2 levels for breakfast. The reception service is a bit withdrawn, the breakfast is very boring - SAME every day - water melon, underripe pawpaw, slices of ham and cheese, bread, overbrewed coffee, tea... More

I recently stayed at Hotel Toledo and everything was going well until our last day. My cousins and I stayed for three days on our third day we left the room with the cleaning lady inside the room. We asked if we should leave our key,she said "I have a key." Upon our return the door was left open and... More

The rooms are basic and probably in the need of a refurbishment soon, however, they are clean and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location as only one block away from Copacabana Beach. The hotel was also located near plenty of banks and a little supermarket. A few blocks away there's a metro station and a post office and... More

We ended a three month tour here. The hotel though dated was clean, had large rooms and in an excellent location one block from Copacabana Beach. The room included continental breakfast and the restaurant on the 13th floor overlooked Copacabana. The breakfast included cheeses, meats ,eggs, breads, good coffee. Service was polite and efficient including use of their computer and... More

We stayed here as part of a tour. Our room was on the 9th floor. It was large and clean. Showers were hot. Breakfast on the 13th floor gave you great views over Copacabana Beach, which was only a block away. The food was standard. Across the road was a great bakery - yum. The hotel was close to supermarkets,... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
